We are thinking about putting the stripes on the front only of our Iconic silver vert. Would like to here opinions or see pictures if anyone else has done that.

I came to this thread hoping to see some examples of stripes I'd like. Yes, a couple. For the most part, high-contrast stripes with pinstripe borders make me cringe, to be truthful. There is something, "My car isn't as good as I'd like, so I have to poke and prod it to bring it up to snuff", about most stripe jobs.

When I bought my 2009 GT/CS, white, there were two other cars in the running: a black Bullitt (Bullitts are not black, are they? And you never, ever stripe a Bullitt); a 2008 GT 500 in the current equivalent of today's lovely Magnetic. The GT500 had one wide flat black stripe. Made my heart ache to decide the gray car was too dark to be comfortable in the desert, and, not incidentally, a few thousand dollars out of reach. The GrayMetallic / WideFlatBlack scheme has lurked in my subconscious and , increasingly, in my consciousness. I'm actually considering a violation of my anti-stripe philosophy.

To be honest, I think Mustangs are one of the few cars out there that can really be stepped up looks-wise from good stripes. It's all about the right combo.

In your case, the combo sounds gorgeous. I just parked next to one with exactly that combo a few days ago (but had red pinstripes) and it was absolutely stunning.

Ended up parking next to the EXACT same Mustang at Walmart for the second time in 2 weeks. Maybe he/she works there. Love the look they got going with the red pinstripes.

Just like most things, stripes are a subjective thing. When I was on the hunt for my 2018 GT convertible I was really looking for Lightning Blue or Ruby Red, which are damn near impossible to find. I then saw a Magnetic GT350 in the showroom at my local dealer with matte black stripes, and I think white pinstripes. All of a sudden, I knew in my head what I wanted to do. So I found my Magnetic Metallic 2018 GT and put Big Worm Graphix gloss black with red pinstripes, exactly what I envisioned when I saw the one at the dealer. To me (again, personal preference), I went gloss to match my aftermarket RTR gloss black wheels, the gloss black grill, and gloss black deck lid cover. I knew I wanted the red stripes to match those awesome looking red taillights, and that I would paint those big ol brake calipers red, plus I saw those red inlets on a post here. (See photo below) I think matte stripes look great but personally I wouldn’t mix matte stripes with gloss rims, front grill and rear deck lid. Although, that’s just me.

Good luck with whatever you decide! Hope to see photos.

That metallic looks very similar to mine, although are those matte? Anyway, both of those cars look good.

Here’s mine from a 1 hour “essential drive to get gas”.

UnkTob,

You're not "fostering feelings of worth, good will and well being" here as your sig suggests. Maybe some people put stripes because it's something constructive to do, or just enjoy the process of creativity, personalization, maybe even practice for other ventures. Be nice.... it's free and makes the world a better place.

I posted a poll to the exterior mods thread but would like to get some vert owner opinions on ghost stripes (satin clear pff) What’s your favorite, 2 stripes, single with sides, or single?

This car should bring in the relief pitchers at Camden Yards. I'm an Orioles fan so forgive me for noticing. Seriously though, I love this car!
