Show me your smoked taillight setup (18-21 GTs)

Hey Guys,

Looking at purchasing these - 2018 Mustang Style BlackedOut Taillight – S550Euros but before I do wanna see what other people's experiences are with them?

Did anyone get them?
If so, sharesies your pics!

I was going to do the whole "taillight covers" from AM but after F'ing up the first attempt at installing a single cover I decided to look at a complete plug and play swap.

Haven't seen those before, but what about paying a shop $50-100 to put the covers on for you? Not ideal price, but still saves you $5-600.

I have to replace the velcro in the kit that I have on one cover. Need to find a similar 3M.

Did you heat them to make the plastic more compliant?

Haven't seen those before, but what about paying a shop $50-100 to put the covers on for you? Not ideal price, but still saves you $5-600.

I was thinking of that however getting the covers was my way of cheaping out the price a bit. The more I drive the car the more it gets top of the line stuff! LOL

No need to, You can get your finger under the outside of the cover and slip it over the light section. this avoids sticking the taillight side of the velcro too early. Try it a few times without peeling the backing off the velcro to practice.

I really like the dark/stealth look it gives

This is what I'm talking about fellas!!!! Looking good. All of the images.

I'm going to Home Depot this weekend to grab some supplies for a BBQ next week so will see if I can find some double-sided 3M tape matching the stuff I destroyed on the one cover and play with that a bit.

I'll also look around at the options you guys have posted. I don't think I've heard of VLAND. I was looking at the ones mentioned in the OP.

I seen a guy on a diff forrum take his lights off & just gave them a few passes with VHT. Looked really good. I want to darken mine, I bought the tint, but I dont like the way the covers & tint cancel the reflectors & make the lights look all small when flashing. As in all you see is the bulb when signals are on instead of the whole light.

The covers I used fit perfectly, each one only fits in one spot, so just prefit then peel and stick. Velcro ones are horrible, you see the velcro with tail lights and brake lights on. 3m ones that have a thin strip 3M tape vertically on the front and back side. Just clean the light with alcohol pads first.

Thanks Richard. The ones from AM have the velcro 3M tape with sticky back for each side of the velcro. These ones mount the same way?

Which ones are these? I put clear ones on my white '21 but my replacement is not white so I didn't want to go clear. I really like these because - as you said - they're not blacked out completely.

I just had mine tinted with film when I had the windows done, At work right now but will get a picture posted. Just did exposed face and left the valleys. looks good but still are pretty bright when the taillights are on
