Absolutely nothing wrong with wax, it still has a place, especially if the car is a weekender/garage queen where ultimate longevity is not at the top of your list.

I mention this a lot, but I would be hard pressed to go past good old Collinite 845. On Race Red, it's stunning!

I would also look at Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant -

A bottle of both Collinite 845 and Wolfgang DGPS will last you for years, offsetting the additional cost of the later somewhat. Can't speak more highly for both.
I’ve just bought some 845 since seeing this, can’t wait to try it :)

Well done!

You can apply by hand or via a DA polisher set on the lowest speed and on an ultra-soft finishing pad. With 845, make sure to apply it as thinly as you can, adding more than that will just make removal harder. I find using the machine helps in this regard. You can also place the bottle under running hot water to make the product more fluid, this further helps with applying that thin coat.

In terms of application and buff off time, I work my way around the car applying the product to each section. By the time I have done that, it's generally time to start the wipe off process from where I began.

Also, you may find that there is a slight haze to the finish the next day, this is normal and will be removed when you next wash the car. This is part of the curing process of 845.

Thank you! Great tips, especially the hot water, I did open it and think that’s solid :)

That's normal too. I can be very gloopy in consistency, so warming it up in water or sitting it in the sun will liquify it, also make sure to shake it very well.

The process would be the following -

- Wash and Decontaminate (Iron remover and/or a clay bar/towel)
- Dry
- Polish
- IPA wipe down (You can mix your own at 50/50 Isopropyl Alcohol and water, I prefer to use Carpro Eraser or Gyeon Prep.)
-Apply the Sealant
-Apply the Wax*

*Ideally, you would use one or the other, as in either the wax or the sealant. Both are fantastic and don't need to be used in combination. If you do want to do it that way, use the sealant first then the wax. Wolfgang DGPS needs 12 hours to cure though before it sees water or another liquid (wax).
Hi @DFB5.0 ... Hope everything is OK.

Just to update as i finally worked with the cars. As stated a real novice here so i polished the cars with HD Speed. The Mustang has additional steps so it have polish, Poly Seal as a Drying Aid and Collinette. Love how it came out.

The Explorer and the 350Z only has polish with HD Speed at the moment.

Here are the pics of them. Will try the Wolfgang Sealant this weekend on the other 2 and will like to know if i can do it as a drying aid or should i follow the instructions applying it with a microfiber pad? Ant advice will be appreciated.

Thanks in advance...

Very nice work! Of course, the Mustang looks the best!

Which version of Wolfgang DGPS did you get? The sprayable version or the liquid type?

Spray -

Liquid/Cream -

In a technical sense, you could use the spray type version as a drying aid. But I wouldn't as it needs a 12-hour cure and that is probably a little impractical.

For a drying aid, I have used countless on top of the liquid/cream version of Wolfgang DGPS including P&S Bead Maker, P&S Paint Gloss, Adam's Slick and Slide. All three provide the lubrication and a short lived sacrificial layer to your existing wax, sealant of coating. If I had to choose one, it would be Bead Maker.

Jajajajajajajaj I agree with you on the Mustang but that 350Z is my little Baby. It is 2004 original with 70k miles on it.

I got the Liquid / Cream one. Thanks for the suggestion on the P& S Bead Maker. Will have to finish half bottle of Poly Seal still remaining.

On the other hand, will be working on the Glass and Plastics Trim so will check your advices and recommendations here as well.

Ceramic coated my GT today. With the prep, it took all day but we’ll worth it. Ethos Car Care Graphene Matrix V2.0. I will do the wheels (including barrels) when I take them off for the winter in a few weeks.
Edit: coated all painted surfaces, glass and plastic trim.

A friend of mine turned me on to a product that works fantastic on black paint. It’s KotchChemie P1.01 below are three new 2022’s that I did this week, Mustang, Bronco and C8 Corvette.

After trying Koch Chemie polish I ordered their wax. Waxed all the cars. Averaged 104 on the gloss meter and the stuff leaves an extremely slippery surface. Almost time to cover the cars and put them away for the season. Depressing, especially after we turn the damn clocks back! :crying:
