Let me start by saying my process is one of MANY ways to create an awesome shine. I’ve tried (and measured with a gloss meter) many combinations of products and pads. Below are some of the latest products I’ve measured In the last year.

81CAAF6B-7AC3-4A82-A6EE-29007AD22F8D.png

The process below has given me the highest numbers on my gloss meter to date. That doesn’t mean that there is nothing else on the market that could be better! It’s impossible and WAY to expensive to buy EVERY product That there is! I definitely don’t want to get in an argument
with anyone over what’s better but I’m NOT A fan of ceramic coatings! Way to hard to get off once applied.
I know that just as much as I’m against it there are NUMEROUS people that are absolutely passionate about it and swear by it. To each their own. I can’t deny ceramic coatings shine like crazy! To much work to paint correct a scuff or imperfection in the paint with ceramic coatings, I DON’T want to work that hard.

1. Wash: Malco CW-37 Premium Car &Truck Wash
Highly lubricated to help reduce micro scratches
when washing

2.Iron Remover: Gyeon Q2M Iron
Removes iron oxide spots off Paint easily.
(Tiny little yellow/orange spots)

3. Clay: Adams Visco Clay (or equivalent)

4. Strip off old wax: Gyeon Q2M Prep
If your looking for absolute maximum shine
Out of ANY product this is a must.
Layering waxes decreases gloss numbers by my
Test Results. The gloss numbers go up around
6 to 8 points if the old wax is removed prior to
Applying any new product. (Measured on at least 10
Cars)

5. Compound: Sonax Perfect Finish
5.1 Compound: Jescar Correcting Compound
Both of these compounds finish like a
Finishing polish. Absolutely no swirls or
Haze. Jescar being a little more aggressive.
Rupes Machine with yellow Rupes pad.
I also have multiple VERY aggressive compounds
that I use when necessary. I try to remove as little as possible of the paint or clear coat to prolong the life of the finish!

6. Ultra Fine Polish: McKee’s Jewel wax
This really makes the finish look like glass.
I use this to bump up the shine and maintain my shine. After using Detail sprays over and over at car shows micro Lines show up on the paint when using a
Scangrip Sunmatch light. You really can’t
See the lines in the paint with the naked eye.
The Scangrip light really amplifies ANY
Imperfections in the paint.
Rupes Machine with white Rupes finishing pad.

7. Sealant: PolishAngel High Gloss
Sealant on steroids, lasts easily 6 months
On customer cars. (My cars are detailed
Weekly, not a good test for longevity)
I consistently get my highest numbers on my
gloss meter with this product

8. Additional Option: Car Pro Reload
This product has almost identical numbers as PolisAngel.
I get the best results with this on a black cars. No streaks, smudges, just liquid black. Use two towels, one to smear it around and another to wipe it off to perfection.

A few cars bellow using this process

Great post!

I tend to align with your Ceramic coating opinions. Like you, I find I get a lot of enjoyment out of trying new or different products. With true Ceramic coatings lasting years, that doesn't afford the ability to chop and change when desired.

Ceramic coatings have their place, being suited to those who perhaps don't have the time or desire to wax their car every few months, an action I feel deeply therapeutic. As a detailing nut, I feel compelled to use Ceramic coatings, but for me, it just doesn't suit my needs. Wax's and Sealants still have their place.

How do you like Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant? I have used it on and off over the years and really love how it looks. Last car I used it on was the Jag, using CarPro Reflect before its application -

Couple shots from a recent roller session. 100% stock exterior, and I still cant stop staring at it.

And how long does your process take?
It takes 4 to 5 hours for complete process.
Maintaining the finish is much quicker, Gyeon, Jeweling wax and Reload takes a little over an hour.

Well put, I totally agree.

I used Wolfgang Sealant for about seven years and was VERY happy with it.
I did a test on the hood of a black Mercedes.
I did three sections, one with Wolfgang Sealant, one with Reload and the last with PolishAngel High Gloss. The gloss numbers were very close. PolishAngel got slightly higher numbers.
But going back after 3 months and 6 months and measuring again PolishAngel looked like I just did it and the other two were gone. The left side is Reload, the middle is PolishAngel and the right Wolfgang. This picture is around 6 months after applying the products. The guy that owns the car did nothing to it. The car sits outside. He didn’t wash it or use any detail sprays. I was stunned at the results.

Thanks to the super annoying @DFB5.0 and @Les I was forced to go out and clean my already clean car this morning. All I wanted was an easy restful Sunday morning but these two jokers, and the rest of you ruined my plans. Thanks!! :giggle: ❤ ❤ ❤

Yeah! What he said. After Les's procedure, I have to admit that I'm way out of their league, so didn't even try to wash my car. Of course it rained all day too.

I used to wash my S197 during rain storms😁 neighbors thought I was nuts
I’m more domesticated now a days and wait for dry days 😁
