my friends have been suggesting to rev match downshifting to have a longer life on my GT CS 2016. I havw a 3.3 gear ratio (not sure if that makes a difference). Seems rev matching can save my clutch for long.

The car is has a blower. Probably 670 wheel.

Rev matching is always better for the clutch and smoother to do than simply dumping it and letting the engine "catch-up" with the transmission speed.

You should always rev match, not doing so will wear everything out faster.

They're not suggesting it to save your clutch. They're suggesting it because of the whiplash.

Yes, rev match.

If you don’t dump the clutch, you won’t get whiplash. Before I learned to rev match, I just let out the clutch gradually after I downshift, while braking, as I’m slowing down. Like how you’d let the clutch out from a stop. I did that for well over 10 years on my Evo, and it’s still on the original clutch.
