Should I go too heavy or too small?

I would love your opinions. My GT came with the heavy 20" wheels and 265/35-20 Pirelli P Zeros. I recently picked up some used OEM 18×8 rims with all-season Michelin 235/50-18 tires to use during our cold weather.

When I go to the track in April, which of these poor choices would be the lesser of 2 evils? The track is 2 hours from home and I can't haul both sets along with my jack.

I will have BMR cradle lockout kit and vertical links. I will also have a Livernois E85 tune.

Be more specific with 'track'.
Quarter mile drag strip. I have quite a bit of experience but it has all been with all wheel drive vehicles and traction was not an issue.

If I have fun running the Mustang, I will invest in tires more suitable for the job. Those 20 inch foundrys look great but they are heavy. I just want to do the best I can with what I have and go from there. Thanks guys.

I'd go with what ever's already mounted on the car. The 18s will offer less rolling resistance. Grip on the Pzeros will be marginally better. So it's most likely a wash.
