It might be a beaten topic. But I’m new to the s550’s and need some help.

After a rough week and trip to the ER for a kidney stone..Ouch.
So I’m treating myself, I have a base 2015 Gt with 4” screen (at the moment, going back and forth about sync 3 conversion)

I already replaced/added Infinity door and rear deck speakers, made some difference

So want to add a 10” sub and amp for it.
What do I need here? I’ve heard line converter?
not familiar as I come from the foxbody world :) and was never needed

Help me spend some money and give me some pointers please.
Parts lost, suggestions, I’m open. Don’t want earth shattering base but good overall sound and bass/punch

You need a T-harness like CARAV 12-240 or similar. There are several companies who sell T-harnesses like that.
This way integrating into the system is plug'n'play.
Do you want to add another amp for your stock speakers as well?

What you will need minus the sub enclosure.
You can tap the signal off your rear deck speakers.

You have to solder in some RCAs into the signal lines.

For a sub only upgrade, just buy an amp with high-level inputs and signal detection for automatic power on. Tap your signals off the rear speakers wires. Use Forscan to remove the bass roll off.

Any suggestions?

I’ll admit after looking, I’m realizing I’m out of touch with today’s speaker, amp setups.

Not looking to break the bank, overall some extra bass , thinking 1 10”

This amp: Alpine S-60M
These to run signals to the rear speaker wires: RCA to wire adapters

This sub box: Zenclosures single box with amp rack
Or this sub box: Audio Designs Box
With this sub: JL 10W3v3-2

Or the more expensive combo: JL Audio Mustang Stealthbox

I have this JL HO110RG-W3v3 in my car mounted behind the rear seats and it's sounds very good. Cheaper than a Stealthbox but just as good. Takes up more trunk space though and you'll need to secure it with straps or other means.

@StangTime
hell ya.. killer reply and I’ll check those out.. I’m sure I might have a few more questions..lol
but this base stereo needs some bass Baddd

Edit, so after looking, do I just splice one of or both rear speaker wires and then to those adapters?

never ran it like this, learn me :)

What’s your budget?
Not to concerned with cost at the moment. Just a quality setup is what I’m after

Well, there are some good preloaded powered 10 inch woofers out there.
Eton RES10A, Ground Zero GZCS10 Sub active, JL has powered woofers.
The Eron and Ground Zero should fit in the spare tire wheel housing so no trunk space lost. Tons of options….
