Shift Knob Heating Up??

I just got my new 2017 GT PP and have noticed when I am driving around town the shift knob has a tendency to start warming up as I drive. Is this normal?

Yes, just feel how hot the side of the center console gets right in front of the seat.

exhaust piping runs under the transmission tunnel so yea theres gonna be warmth

I feel the heat coming from the footwell near the center console on a hot day. Pretty normal.

When I did my exhaust, I lava wrapped my entire x-pipe. It helped. The cowl heat was so bad it would sizzle my leg. Hardly notice it now.
