I felt compelled to write a review about the experience with Shawn Foster's "Whine Mod" for Mustangs with Roush, VMP, Whipple, and similar superchargers.

First, Shawn Foster is a great guy with excellent customer interface skills. You can tell that he truly cares about his product and your overall satisfaction. Like many of you may be, It was hard to spend north of $100 for something that you figured you may be able to rig with parts from my local auto parts store. However, I decided to pull the trigger and give this mod a chance, and I am glad I did. There are many benefits to ordering the kit from Shawn. As mentioned before, Shawn's customer service is awesome. In addition, the parts you receive in his kit are very high quality- and he even sends the the necessary hardware that you need, such as drill bits, in order to complete the install. Also, Shawn sends out a detailed instructions guide that walks you through the step by step process, making the install simple and relatively headache free. If you get into a snag, Shawn is simply a text away.

This Mustang is equipped with a VMP Gen IIR supercharger with ID1050X injectors, 79mm pulley, and a roush air-box. Before Shawn's whine mod was installed, you could barely hear the supercharger at all. However, after the "stage 4" kit from Shawn was installed, the supercharger screams, and it will put a smile on your face every time you hit the pedal.

A before and after comparison can be seen by clicking the link below. I highly recommend Shawn Foster and his products! Thank you

Sounds like filling the silencer holes on an Eaton blower.

Shawn is the man and I'd highly recommend his products. However, I would do some research before you commit to the stage 4 kit. After I installed mine I was less than pleased... not because of quality of the kit (it's complete and great) but because of the low RPM suction sound it made. Many say that they like it, but I hated it. The good news is that there is a ways to muffle it and make it sound more natural.

If I was to do it all over again, it would be a stage 1 kit

The induction sounds or air suction sounds are normal when connecting to the inlet pipe, however it can be easily reduced with a simple baffle like in this video below.
