Seriously, how does the EPA rate this car at 14 city and 21 highway?

Before anybody attacks me for talking about fuel economy. I am no longer in California. Gas here is like $2.30 per gallon for 93 octane. I have no problems with paying for the gas, where I lived it was +$3.75 for REGULAR.

Im not complaining about the MPGs. I just don't understand how this is rated at 14/21 16 combined MPGs and I am getting 10 MPGs lol. I expect it when I drive crazy but like it stays at 10-11 regardless of my driving habits which I guess is a good thing. 11MPG isn't bad for 'aggressive' driving. I just wonder how they got those numbers from testing because I am way off lol.

I averaged 16mpg in town and 23mpg on the highway (55mph) and 22-23mpg on interstate (75-80mph) with my 16’ R.

Maybe it’s the amount of foot you out in it?.. I used the cruise control nearly every drive.

Same. MPG all comes down to driving habits. I will tell you at my track days I go through a tank in just about 45 min... not good MPG.

I regularly get 22 on the highway no problem. Either there's something off with your particular car, or perhaps you should further modify your driving habits if you're interested in fuel economy. lol

I don't know what you're doing, but mine tends to hang around 8mpg (ish) at the tracks I frequent. If your spirited street driving nets you 10mpg, I'd suggest maybe you're running a little too hot for the street.

I usually calculate the old fashioned way, you know actual simple math. When we bought the wife’s Subaru SUV four years ago, it was the first car I’ve ever owned that the car computer actually was darn near spot on....Like within a couple tenths for a tank. We’re only getting around 21 because she loves the turbo hits ;-)
I haven’t calculated the GT350 but I did reset the whole mileage thing and it was telling me I was at 12.5mpg for the first 1700miles when I did my first oil change. I’ll let you know if that changes with fresh oil and after breaking in.
It really is difficult to not here that beautiful exhaust. Another first world problem.
I suspect whom ever did the actual testing certainly drove the car like an economy car. Oh and there’s this....I’ve never attained the MPG’s that was on the sticker. Keep in mind, I’m 62 and have owned plenty of different cars and trucks.
You think our 350’s are tough? Try tracking a new GT500. I here you may get a half hour out or a tank full.

My car's MPG meter shows over 20% more MPG (13.3) than what I actually get (10.8) measuring the mileage/gallons.

Same here. Cruise will cost MPG

Drove the car around town today for a few miles. Before I got started I checked the cars mpg estimates and I’m at 12.3 for the last 380 or so miles. I figure that’s pretty good compared to the first 1700 miles at 12.5. Why you ask? Good question you. Answer is the last 380 miles or so have not seen a freeway. All around town and letting friends run it a little.
The first 1700 miles I estimate about half were freeway at much lower rpm’s. Usually ;-)

I would ask @16Kobra. I think he gets that kind of mileage.

Interesting. I haven't used cruise control yet because I am still in the process of breaking it in. I will check it out when I can. 22MPG is really good.

My lifetime MPG according to the computer is 17.9 over 4200 miles. I'd say I have a 60/40 split city/hwy over the life of the car. I've seen the computer read as high as 23.6 on a long trip averaging 75mph over 300 miles.

I'm close to 1100 miles on my '20, still on the original oil but have been breaking the car in by driving it in and around the cities with varied RPM, shifting, engine braking, and the occasional blast through a couple or few gears up to 6500-7000 RPM (haven't gone past that yet), and so far each of my tank averages have been anywhere from 16.1 - 16.7 mpg.

Same with me, Chassis Number Neighbor! I'm at 2000 miles and have averaged 17mpg after the break in period. During break in for the first 1000 miles I was doing a lot more city driving so I was sitting at about 14-15mpg. For the second 1000 miles I've been mainly on the freeway and have an average of 17mpg, though I have seen figures in the mid to high 20s at times while cruising at 70-80mph.

Not sure what you are thinking @Tomster

I was getting the same mileage as @DrumReaper in my 16 non R.

My 19 R does not do as well, but @ 80 mph I have seen 20-21 mpg. But running around town, it gets 15-16.

Now, at the Daytona Track events that I have run, it only gets 6.5 mph....:angel:

I got high 16 to 17 mpg driving city streets to and from work. Pretty conservative driving though.
