In 2015 Ford sold 400,000+ more vehicles in FNA than Fiat Chrysler. This year they're competitive.

whats a ringer car?
Ringer Car is a car specifically picked for magazine testing because it is at the top end of the distribution for horsepower, etc. Basically sending out the best of the best to be officially tested, and all other cars are likely to perform less than it. So it is not like they picked a random car from the assembly line, the look for a specific best case car.

True that. I remember when chevy trend put the GT350 R against the z28 and guess what, the z28 had the same horsepower as the Gt350, and it still lost.

I think they've gotten away from sending a juiced car. They just send a team of engineers with the car. And make changes right at the track. After they collect data.

Let me add that I test drove a Camaro, Corvette, Challenger, and Mustang, before I decided to go with the Mustang as my next car. The Camaro was my least favorite, then the Corvette, but I did enjoy the Challenger a lot, but the Mustang was just a bit nicer IMO.

The Z/28 was a flop.

I disagree. The Z28 was good at what it was designed for, race track on a (somewhat) budget. The GT350 just came along and was better

There was alot of complaints with that Z/28, blown motors, etc., so I wouldnt consider it a success especially since you havent seen it in the Camaro line up anymore.

Have you visited the GT350 forum lately? There is also talk about blown motors, oil consumption and other issues there. Pushing the limits of performance will also push the limits of reliability. Not bashing the GT350, would love to have one, but we have to be honest with each other here.

The Z/28 cant compare to the GT350, the GT350 is built and sold year after year unlike the Z/28. I wont be a apologist for Chevrolet. You're more than welcome to be.

I just think you are letting your bias cloud your judgment. I agree it cannot compare with the GT350 that came over two years behind it, but it is pretty clear that you are looking at the Z/28 trying to find reasons not to like it. It was a powerful, well balanced car that performed very well for its class. Had a very harsh ride and many compromises to get it, but still had decent performance which is what the Z/28 was all about.
