With approximately 9500 Mustangs sold in September, the year-over-year sales of the car is up 199%. This was the best September for the Mustang since 2007.

Poor Camaro, despite incentives on all the 2015's, barely managed to sell 5000 cars during the same period.

I wonder what the Mustang is averaging monthly this year. Has to be over 10,000. Way to go Ford.

As for the Camaro, I would imagine many are holding out for the new model. We'll see soon enough.

The new Mustang is clearly a statistical success. Ford has pulled in people like me, long time Jap owners. I traded the brand new model 2015 Acura TLX in for my Mustang. Brand new typical "entry level luxury Acura". I was sitting in my Mustang yesterday and I realized that its fit and finish as well as technology was actually better then my TLX. My TLX actually had some initial quality issues and I have had no issues on the new Mustang. It really is well engineered like you could say of the Jap cars in the 90's-2000's.

That's the reason I bought mine. Got it on Sept 1st. Xplan + $750 EAA rebate + $1000 Labor Day incentive + 0% financing for 6 years = no brainer , all without having to haggle. I was in and out of the dealership in just over an hour (including test drive). Easiest car buying experience I've ever had. Great job Ford and thanks to everyone's info on this forum. This is an awesome car!

Yep, that pushed me over the edge... 4000.00 in discounts and 0%. But they needed to clear out the '15's since they had '16's sitting on the lot next to them.
I have not been lucky on the quality issue. My car has the driveshaft vibration problem and they are still not able to identify /fix it. But I love the styling, interior, performance. Anywhere I go, someone makes a comment about how good the car looks.

I'm sure, but GM was offering $2500 bonus cash and 0% financing on 2015 Camaros, too, so it's still apples-to-apples.

Not really apples to apples since I didn't even consider a 2015 Camaro with the new model coming out in 2016. For Ford to be discounting a brand new model as much as they did in Sept, means they were serious about winning the sales crown for 2015.

EXACTLY the reason I was able to trade my '15 for a '16 straight up. End of the month HUGE dealership incentive.
