Got an SES notification "your vehicle has detected a concern with the evaporative emission system." Any quick thoughts on what this usually refers to?

First thought is an evap leak. On another vehicle I'd say check the gas cap. I might still check if the fill fkap is sealing.
Otherwise put it on a code reader..

Thanks, I'll check what I can. Given my almost complete lack of mechanical skills and knowledge, though, it'll be heading to the dealer tomorrow.

Doesn't sound like any big deal though, which is good.

I literally just had this issue and got it fixed less than a week ago at a dealer. It turned out to be that the evap hose needed to be replaced. I didn't even notice until the Ford Connected app told me while I was in the middle of driving. It took 2 days to get 'er back.

Yeah, I didn't notice the light in my car (need to check if it's even showing) and got a notification on my phone from the Ford Pass app. Didn't seem to be affecting how the car drives.

Two days to repair it? Ouch. Terrible timing for me this week. Is the car drivable in the meantime?

It was 100% drivable. It just started to smell like crap after 20 minute drives

Bad gas cap, or a leak somewhere between the fill port and the EVAP charcoal canister.

Usually it's like the other guy said bad hose or the canister itself. Usually goes bad from overfilling the gas. Do you go one more click on the gas nozzle when filling?

Nope, I take it out after the first click. Never overfill.

Hmmm interesting. A factory flaw then I'm guessing. Could be an issue at the engine end/connection. Could be a bad sensor. It's under warranty so I wouldn't even worry.

Yep, I'm sitting at the dealership now waiting for the shuttle to take me home.

It’s CEL (Check Engine Light)
Or SES (Service Engine Soon)

FYI.

Yeah, noticed that after I wrote the headline and post. Just didn't change it. Mine's a SES.

Where is this hose?
