Another reason Rs are best - they are apparently wider.
The R's are a little wider when it comes to wheel traverse (77" F & 78" R) and sit ~1/2 lower than a GT350 there those two differences may give an elusion of looking a little wider than they actually are.

For anyone putting either model up on their car lift they certainly know what I am referring to when it comes to putting these two different cars up top as the R model is quite wide especially when it comes to the rear set of wheels.

Whoa, I love that Kona Blue. Why do the outside R's look wider than the middle 350? Angles, they really do mess with you.
Stripes on R's and stripeless GT350 makes a visual difference.

So what's the final verdict? Is the price tag bogus?

Always amazes me at people who drop money on something like a GT350R and are surprised by things like that. I can't imagine ever being that affluent
Youā€™d be surprised to learn that money doesnā€™t mean you are well versed on everything auto related. As a matter of fact Iā€™d say itā€™s overwhelmingly the opposite for most affluent folk. The guys here that have obviously been quite successful monetarily are the exception.
I work with high end dealerships and see clueless customers almost daily.

Great expression about that in Ireland, "People who know the price of everything and the value of nothing."

I havenā€™t gotten a reply to my inquiry yet.
On a completely different note I noticed a 2016 Shelby GT350R Base Model on eBay (GR364) that looks to be pretty much still in the wrapper and with only ~90 miles on it.

Some outstanding pictures of a terrific looking car.

Two things that are interesting about this car one of which is the trunk tray that is shown in one picture whereby the owners kit and other pertinent provenance is sitting on top of a trunk tray.

Any other owners of Base R models ever seen a trunk tray like this before as none of my Base R's ever came this way from the factory?

Of course the other interesting item on this car is the asking price and will see where that all goes!

2017 GT350 now gone to a great home.
^ That is a very well presented car and seems the price is more realistic compared to the $45K of the original discussed example.

Did someone on here make the purchase of the R in the original link (just curious)?

I doubt it sold, because I doubt it ever existed in the first place.
I don't know that one way or another...but either do you. It was cheap, it makes just as much sense to say that the guy was bombarded with offers and either sold it immediately or realized it was listed too cheap to begin with and pulled it. You never know!

I and a couple of people pinged him but got no reply. It had been up for a while before I saw it, so we may never know.
