This is probably something we’ll known but I hadn’t seen a vehicle do this before.

After accidentally shutting the door on the seatbelt (not very hard either) I got a couple of love marks. The first time it happened I didn’t realize what caused it and I touched it up. This time I noticed it and man I swear either the paint is really soft in this area or really thin.
(the reason the seatbelt is hanging is because of the shoulder protectors not allowing it to retract properly)
Anyone else have any issues?

Yep I’ve done it a couple times in my GT , luckily do damage but I’ve never had issues with the seatbelts like this with any of my other cars.
I was thinking that my seatbelt might be faulty but I guess not by looking at your post.

edit: I just went and had a closer look after posting this and yes I do have a small chip/dent.
Bad design IMO.

I saw a YouTube video where they used a sort of grip tape in this area to protect it. I may give it a shot.

God I hate when that happens! Usually happens in the back seat of four door cars because kids. Maybe color matched thick textured vinyl?

That’s a good idea. I’ll have to see what I can find.

So THAT'S what that mark is. I had that on my 2013 and my 2017 and never knew what it was from.

Seat belt tensioners are weak.

I am a bit OCD. Before getting out, I always make sure I feed mine back in and let the buckle drop on the belt down to the knot.

If it's dented, PDR may be able to remove.

I also did this in my GT. A lil PPF in this area is probably a good idea

Never have that issue with any of my cars. I always make sure the seatbelt is fully retracted before opening the door to get out, I told my passenger to do the same.

Imagine what six seasons as a rent-a-racer can lead to with students whipping off that heavy harness......

Here's the Rented Mule's door jamb - 🤪

Easy touch up being white. Use an artist brush and just color the spot.
