So I just went over some nasty steep humps in my neighbourhood. And I heard some nasty scraping in the middle of the car. What kind of possible serious damage could this have done to my car? I didn't notice any strange noise after the scraping as I drove home.

I've seen many a windowed block as a result of seemingly harmless undercarriage scrapes. I would take it to a shop and have them check your tire pressure as this can indicate a dented resonator.

I'm a mechanic

Once this happened and I lost my engine, so make sure your check engine light isn't on.

Most likely scratched that plastic cover underneath. I would contact ford and tell them they need to give you a new car.

Well if you have a aftermarket exhaust and have the screws pointed down on the clamps they may have been scraped no big deal. As others stated, the plastic shroud in front of the bumper may have been scraped. If you are stock height, I don't see how you could have bottom out unless you rolled into a deep pothole or heavily uneven surface. You will be fine better to scrape at slow speed then bang and scrape at high speed. If worried check tire pressure, wheel alignment and listen for sounds. Also stop trying to hit bears on the street!!!!! :gossip:
