I checked my lug nuts (lewd comments acceptable) on my '19 PP1, 21 mm fits nicely, 13/16 is too snug and difficult to get on the lug properly. I measured the 6 point sockets I used: 20.88 for the 13/16 (20.6 nominal); 21.2 for the 21 mm.
Mandatory scissors jack comment to further the original thread: the Husky brand I bought would not fit the 13/16" adapter and had to be ground down a bit.

For 13/16 I have used; Craftsman 6 pt impact, Craftsman 6 pt reg, and Kobalt 6 pt impact. All these fit great.
The 21 mm I tried were Craftsman 6 pt impact, Craftsman 6 pt reg and Tekton 6 pt reg. All these are will work but I think the 13/16 is a safer fit.
The wheels have only been removed 3 times.
Not doubting anyone but just reporting my experience.

I emailed Levittown Ford and their parts dept said that Ford does not provide that information but he believed 21 mm was the better choice between 21 mm and 13/16".

I do not know if my PP2 , which has very different wheels that other Mustangs, have different lug nuts. I doubt it but you never know.

I measured my lug nuts and they all came out at 21.02 to 21.09 mm.

Also, I measured my 13/16" Craftsman socket (6 pt and 12 pt), and they measured a little over 21 mm. So much for tolerances. Clearly, the 13/16" Craftsman sells is over-sized (in my set). My lugs, I feel, at too close in sizing to suggest bulging.

None of the 13/16" fit loose enough to the point I would use them in my Craftsman set, nor any of the protector lug nut sockets I use. The 13/16" are so tight, I would expect to scratch everything up using them.

Well if the 13/16 ever gets too tight I can always use the 21 mm. I would use the 21 mm if it was all I had.

Not doubting you but on my 2020 the 13/16 fits great and the 21 mm is too loose for me. I tried on two sets of stock lugs.
Thats odd, on my 2020 the 21 I used fit great, it was a craftsman though. I'm still gonna swap my nuts with better ones at some point.

Please forgive me but I am not sure those tools have the best accuracy and tolerance. Had you said they were SK, Snap ON or MAC , etc., then I would feel differently. Don't feel bad, I have the lousy Craftsman set too (from late 80's). My dad has a SK set and they are a much better socket. Nuts that my Craftsman fit poorly and dead perfect in his SK sockets. Then again, one set of SK sockets cost more than all of my Craftsman so you get what you pay for. I figured, eventually, I will inherit a better set :).

No problem, I am not building space vehicles or anything that needs that tight of tolerances. At least I'm not using Crescent wrenches for everything. :)

just a FYI for all who use the Gorilla 61148CX OEM replacement lug nut (great nut by the way).

Asked them which was the socket size and they replied:

Part number 61148CX can be used with both a 13/16" hex or 21mm hex socket, though most of the OEM lug applications it's designed to replace are specifically a 21mm application. Also, some brand 13/16" sockets have a low tolerance and may not fit well on these lugs so a 21mm socket is more appropriate.
just trying to share the knowledge.

It is not possible that all my lugs are swollen.
Maybe they are. Ha ha. You saw that I'm not the only one saying they're 13/16". At any rate, get rid of that stock crap man, and get proper lug nuts :D.

Yeah, I'll get the Gorilla ones that they say are 21 mm meant to replace 21 mm lugs- which is what I have :) !!

I have the 61148BCX Gorillas man, and they're also 13/16". What do you have against facts? Ha ha.

I disagree. I was merely comparing them to a better set and commented that , because they are not perfect, their tolerances may be why you think the 21 mm lug nuts that come with the car are 13/16". Vendor and dealership seem to suggest they are really 21 mm. I feel they are 'lousy' because I have experienced better. SK have much thinner walls and they never seem to fail for my dad. He has been using them about twice as long as I have had my Craftsman set and so far I have cracked a couple sockets and broken 3 x 3/8" drives. His set is still original. Maybe he just takes care of them better than I do. Who knows. Craftsman are good enough for the average homeowner but I would not go so far as to call them perfect.

Funny. When I reached out to Gorilla, they told me what I posted before :

Also, some brand 13/16" sockets have a low tolerance and may not fit well on these lugs so a 21mm socket is more appropriate.
That is a fact too. They seem to work with either but are meant for 21 mm replacment. Also, my local Ford said they are 21 mm.
