you are distracting from the point sir…

…he said he would insist on proof of vaccination to be in their presence; ie a vaccination passport.

what would YOU call the opposite of that?
You're not focused on my response to your post that clearly said some states have outlawed masks. What states?

I guess if he can't get proof then he will have to find a different place to go - just like if someone can't show proof of being vaccinated then they will have to go someplace else. Big wooop ... he doesn't live in the USA anyway.

OK I read it all, and it’s says it all…just a few sentences in;

Natural immunity “does provide pretty good protection, there’s no doubt about that,” said Dr. Liam Sullivan, a Grand Rapids infectious disease specialist with Spectrum Health. “The question is how long does that protection last, and I think it’s too early to say.””

I’m just playing devils advocate here, point being everyone is gonna take what they want out of what they read…and no amount of keyboard warriors on a mustang board are gonna change anyone’s mind 😬

The argument is someone who has some immunity from being infected does not make them totally immune. The bottom line of that article is that people who have been infected are not "home free" and the recommendation by many experts and studies say at least a booster is a benefit - even the Israel studies said that.

I’m just playing devils advocate here, point being everyone is gonna take what they want out of what they read…and no amount of keyboard warriors on a mustang board are gonna change anyone’s mind 😬
I agree ... anyone participating in this thread should know that by now. 😄

you’re right, I am not responding to that because it was ancillary to the discussion…

but my bad…I was referencing mask mandates, nothing more nothing less.

so are you saying that vacc status is just another issue to divide the populace or no?

What does “pretty good” mean exactly? Does it mean “mostly adequate for most people” or does it mean “it’s better than no immunity”?

What exactly is this person saying?

Neither does being jabbed. Some say infected and jabbed is better, if so I say lets mandate all who are jabbed get infected since that is better protection than either alone.

Replace ”naturally immune” with “previously infected”.
Being previously infected doesn’t imply immunity, as has been discussed here repeatedly. Again, you’re misusing language.
Hello; Same for the shots if you want to play word meaning games. Having shots does not keep us from catching the covid virus. Lets go thru it again. You become infected. The virus takes over body cells and starts the process of making copies of itself. Each infected cell can make huge numbers of copies. Each copy can then go on to infect other cells. That repeats until something stops the virus.
For a few lucky people the virus just never gets a start for reasons not exactly clear. Could be they had a different corona type virus similar to the new covid19 that their immune system knows so can deal with the covid19. Could be some other reasons.
For many tho, a new virus which we encounter for the first time, there is nothing ready to deal with the virus. That has been the case for millions who ran into the virus. For the first few days the virus is in control. There are some general immune system agents at work but they are overwhelmed.

The body has to start a dedicated immune response. The invader has to be identified and the body has to start making agents to deal with that new virus. That takes a few days. Then the body can start to control the virus. When enough specific antibodies are made the newly emerging virus copies get covered by them. That begins the ending of the infection. We feel sick for at least two reasons. One is the immune system mechanisms such as fever, muscle aches and such. Another is all the damaged cells the virus has torn apart. There can be other things. For a virus such as a rhino virus ( cold) the process takes about two weeks.

Thing is the virus does not just give up. It has to be stopped. It is the human bodies immune system reaction that stops the infection. So yes those who were sick and recovered on their own have some level of natural immunity. Since they recovered, the immunity is very likely to be good. New evidence is showing even those with mild cases can have a strong immune. Why some individuals do not have a strong response is not clear.

So no, I will not replace natural immunity with anything else. I will use the traditional wording. The old words work just fine.

Of course it's another factor to fuel the divide ... doesn't take much these days. But at some point certain things need to be done to get over the pandemic if a huge population of people don't want to make strives to get to the end. I think pretty much everyone in this country is sick and tired of it, and sitting around bitching about "freedom" and doing nothing about it isn't the best way to make any progress. The goal is to put an end to the pandemic ASAP with the least number of people dying or being messed up from Covid as possible.

Hello; There are other links previously posted here on that issue. There is mounting evidence natural immunity can be robust for covid19 specifically and is lasting. Lasting in the sense it is still showing up day o day when someone checks. Perhaps better to say it has not yet shown to have gone away in the checks that have been done.

I finished my second moderna shot last March. Can you say what level of immunity I now have. Is it mostly adequate. Am I pretty good. Am I just better off than no immunity. There must be some range for the shots. I was told many weeks ago I can catch the covid virus even with my two shots. I am told I will likely not get as sick as I would if I did not have the shots. I am told I can be very ill. I can die while fully vaccinated.

Obtuse. If someone who's vaccinated happens to get a break through infection then their immune system will get stronger, just like someone who's recovered from Covid and gets reinfected. But in both situations a booster shot would make their immune system stronger without being reinfected ... as shown and recommended by many studies. Most people (who aren't "afraid" of a vaccine) would rather build immunity without actually taking the risk of a real viral infection.

But what's asinine is to be unvaccinated and wait until you might get infected to build immunity and take the risk of being really F-ed up or dead from it.

Hello; You seem to keep forgetting he has had and recovered from the covid19 virus. He has already faced the risk of being really F-ed up or dead.

Read it again. I wasn't talking about "him" ... keep up man.

As a vaccinated anti-vaxxer, you seem to have a fascination with someone who's had Covid and recovered. 🤔

I went to the Cincinnati Bengals VS the Green Bay Packers game today. Very unusual game where the kickers missed a bunch of field goals. Made the game very exciting.

There was no Vax card requirement or negative test required. The stadium was sold out with very few no shows.

I's guess 1% or less were wearing masks. I suggest you not come to Ohio or Ky if you are fearful of unvaxed non mask wearing public.

The world felt normal for a few hours today and I enjoyed it.
