TOUR TO THE TOMBSTONES RALLY​

You’re invited to join us for the next Texas Region SCCA Road Rally on December 5. We will tour Collin, Fannin and Grayson Counties, and visit a number of cemeteries. Course following will be easy. All roads are paved, except some short sections leading to and inside cemeteries.

Rally Day is Saturday, December 5. Registration opens at 8:00 am at Pat Lobb Toyota/Scion of McKinney, 3350 S Central Expwy, McKinney, TX 75070, (214) 544-8696. First car starts at 9:31 am. The finish will be at Mariachi’s Restaurant in Sherman.

You will be directed to a number of area cemeteries. At each you will record the cemetery name(s) and answer questions from signs or tombstones. We also ask questions for you to answer as you drive between cemeteries.

As usual, we are looking for a car or cars that cannot make the Dec. 5 rally, but would like to run it for free on another day! We need a novice and a more experienced car, ideally, to run the route and comment on the instructions and the questions. We prefer a Saturday run (Nov 7 or Nov 14 is our first choice), but will work with you whatever day you are free. Again, we prefer to start the run at the same time of day that the rally will run (start between 9:30 and 10:00am), but we will work with you to find a good time. We prefer a driver and navigator, but if only one of you is free, one of us can drive, and you can work with the instructions and critique them as we go.

This is a good way to learn how we put a rally together, and may help you compete. Also, when you see what goes into building a rally, you might want to help us do it sometime.
