The guy behind the design of the next generation under S650 Chief Engineer Mike Celentino is none other than a guy named Aiden Chang-il Lee of Ford Design.

I had originally found out before anyone outside of Dearborn some 8 years ago, that Kemal Couric had designed the "then yet to be revealed" S550 back in April 2013 and finally have stumbled on the Gen 7 designer info.

Looks like the S650 final design was decided on in January 2020, which is why we started seeing credible renderings several months ago.

Kind of like this stage 8 years earlier in January 2012, but with S650 proposals instead:

Maybe we should start seeing them running around by May or June?

I also really think we need a separate Generation 7 sub-forum here (or maybe M7G?), as despite Autoline's ridiculous rumor that it won't be redesigned for 7 years, S650 is still on track for a 2022 debut.

Take this somewhat as the best visual confirmation, as S650 is still in progress per all of these people at Ford and my own contact as well. This is coming, so ignore the doomsayers.

The 2029 Gen 8 car may or may not even be called S750. That chassis code isn't a given, as S = Special Vehicles and 650 is just randomly assigned, even if similar to "550". S750 doesn't really exist.

Once again, great info @amk91

I believe Jarstang (site owner) has already registered Mustang7g.com but for now, I'll see if he's up for an S650 sub-section.

Keep the info coming :like:

I think a sub-section would be better to begin with ;)
I like this community and redirecting some of them to a new hp strikes me as too early for now. All we have by now are rumors... Actually I would prefer an implementation of mustang7g.com into this page.

@amk91 keep up the phenomenal work. Your posts have always been the most interesting ones for me

Looking at theme C I can't help but think the 2018+ would've looked a lot better with the fogs integrated into the bumper vents.

Interesting... an ex-GM designer now head designer of the Mustang. Considering GM’s designs in the past 10 years or so and the current theme of automotive design, makes me think the next Gen Mustang might not be quite the looker than the S550 is

I love my S550 so much I’m looking for another one.. I personally feel like Ford is going to miss the mark on the S650.

I hope they prove me wrong.

Looks interesting but none of them make me go wow, more variations on a them mixed with some older design concepts and some dare i say camaroish vibes. Ill hold final judgment until i see the production model though. I love the s550. Also wondering if this is just a full sheet metal refresh and still has the s550 chassis underneath with some tweaks maybe.

I like the 2015 theme B best. I may have missed it, but aren't those for the current design and not the S650? Anybody got links to the next gen renderings?

The renderings above were proposals for S550, not S650.

And, yes, S650 will be a heavy revision of the S550's DC2 architecture (with elements of CD6, supposedly).........with all new sheetmetal.

I still say your wrong on that. Heavily based on the cd6 with some elements of the dc2. Bet me.
