Has anyone converted an S550 to the Vodoo motor? I am curious if the chassis can handle it, not to mention my MT82 transmission. I think the transmission worries me most as most people have said it is glass.

Waste of time and money. Just get a GT350.

Why mess around? $20K also get you the Aluminator XS 12.0:1 Compression 5.2L 4V DOHC 2015-2017. Then get the stage 3 kit for the MT82.

I'm just thinking long term. I'm not the type of guy that upgrades cars unless God forbids something happens. Unless the motor is bullet proof stock and I should upgrade cooling for sustained spirited driving, then I won't need to upgrade.

Not knowing your reasons, I have a few thoughts. I see that you have a 2016 GT. People put superchargers on the S550. A little more torque from the Voodoo over a Gen 2 Coyote (rated 429 ft-lbs vs. 400 ft-lbs) isn't going to hurt anything. I'd check into the higher rpm operation, though, to see what that does (probably OK, but worth a check). For what it's worth a Gen 3 Coyote makes about as much peak torque as a Voodoo (rated 420 vs 429 ft-lbs).

That said, I agree with the post above that says look into the Aluminator XS 5.2 from Ford Performance. It has more power (580 hp) and torque (445 ft-lbs) than the Shelby Voodoo (526 hp) and a cross plane crank (less vibrations) and is actually less expensive: https://lmr.com/item/M6007A52XS/ford-performance-52-aluminator-xs-crate-engine-m-6007-a52xs

It uses the GT350 Voodoo block and CNC ported GT350 heads. It also comes with the Cobra Jet intake manifold, forged pistons and crank, ARP bolts, billet oil gears, etc. On paper it's a very stout engine. I don't have any first hand experience with them in operation.

I thought about replacing my Gen 3 Coyote with the Aluminator XS 5.2 early on early on, but realized I can make nearly that much hp with full bolt ons and ported stock heads which would be thousands cheaper, even after selling my Gen 3 engine.

You might be ahead with ported stock heads as you’ll retain the direct injection. AXS5.2 is rated on race fuel with long tube headers. It won’t make those numbers with factory emissions systems and pump gas, probably down 40hp and 20tq.

Ford's website says "Premium unleaded fuel only". It doesn't say anything about race fuel. Where'd you see that?

Most people who install this will likely bolt LT headers to it (some with hi-flow cats), so that's not really a big issue.

Unless something changed:

101 octane.
The octane # is given to illustrate what it takes to get the power advertised. Nowhere does it say that 101 octane is "required" to run these engines safely. But if you want those power numbers, that's what you have to run.
