Hey guys, designed and uploaded the parts needed for capping things off after removing your soundtube. This should apply to all 2015-2017 Mustangs, GTs & non-GTs alike.
Meant to be 3D printed, if anyone else tries it out, let me know. My set has been in service for about a year now, and it works great. Printed mine with BambuLab's TPU material.

If you own a 3D printer, or have access to one, you can download the STEP or STL file & make it. I've outlined ideal settings & materials to use on that site.

Just curious, but what's the reason for deleting the sound tube? I don't imagine it's weight savings right?

It definitely gets in the way of pulling the oil dipstick. But the better question is why it's there in the first place, when Ford could have focused their resources on so many other things that actually improve the product. Like a decent sound system, for example, or better 10R80 performance. ;)

Interesting. I mean its not like it's fake noise like BMW pipes in through the stereo. It's just helping you hear the engine better which I thought everyone would appreciate. We don't have one on the GT350 so never thought about it until I saw this postI guess.

  • Better access to dipstick
  • Very light, to almost unnoticable decrease in noise from the engine
  • MAJOR: Complete elimination of smells when some prick with a barely running car floors it in front of you. At least, the smells were completely eliminated in my case.

I've not heard before that it eliminates engine odors in the cabin, but now that you mention it, I haven't noticed the distinct oily smell that sometimes happened since I pulled mine.

Yup. It's just a tube that takes in air from the intake, runs it through some baffels, then pumps into the cabin. The only filtering that happens is on the engine air filter, which is more for larger particles vs. smaller particles that influence smells.
