The bulbs themselves are easy to install.

However, I still recommend taking the front bumper off for ease of access to the factory bulbs.

Did mine last weekend. Bumper off. Unless you have elf hands and arms I don't see how it's possible with out specialized factory tools

It's probably best to just remove the bumper, it's not very difficult to remove in all honesty
