Tweaked the dash placement today to get it centered up and ready for final welding! Will be completing that tomorrow.

Talking with a few different tuners though and I might have to change my engine choice.... Ford changed the trigger wheel on each cam between gen 2 and 3... With the Voodoo being a gen 2 motor, this means that I would have to disable VCT if I want to run it with a Gen 3 PCM. With the 12:1 compression, marginal low end torque to begin with, I am not sure I want to make that compromise...

My backup plan I have been formulating would be to build an NA version of the 5.2 Predator. That uses gen 3 cams but without the high pressure fuel pump and are designed to fit in 5.2 heads. I would basically be creating a 5.2xs aluminator motor. That thing makes 580hp at 7800RPM. Down the road that also opens up the possibility of adding the 5.2 supercharger! Still have not made a final decision yet but I am leaning toward the NA predator motor at this point.
Out of curiosity what stops you from using an aftermarket gen 3 camshaft set with similar base lift an duration? Do they not fit?

Firing order for the Voodoo is different than cross plane and no gen 3 cams exist with the Voodoo firing order. I could possibly get custom grind cams made but that would be $$$$$$$$.

True, forgot about that. Oh well, a high revving NA predator sounds fun.

Made some serious progress since I last was here!
Is it still going relatively well?

Yea have not run into any significant issues yet! There is definitely a significant difference though in the firewall/windshield area between S550 and S197. Where I have the dash is about as low as I can possibly go yet the center supports still required about 1/2” spacers before being bolted to the trans tunnel. The dash is about 1” lower than a S197 dash at the windshield. The hood line of the S550 must have been lowered by at least 1.5” in order for this fitment to make sense.

I have not done it in a mustang yet but I have programmed one for my Maverick. I seen others swap sync 4 into the mustangs so I know it’s possible.

Shifter mounting complete! Next week will be cleaning the car out and taking care of some surface rust along with painting these modified areas.

That is cool. Let me know how you get this done. I just got my hands on a sync 4 module but my car is a 17 and i read online that you need the modem to get the realtime traffic and for the nav to work. Programming is going to be the hard part as there really is no refference models for the mustang to get the programing from. I could be wrong
Also, did you have to trim the dash? I have seen some modders having to either trim the dash or widen the car but those are with the older 60's version cars. Yours looks like a more ground up build rather than a swap and hope it works, :like:
