Just looked at the site. Mustang and Bronco didn't appear to be presented as subsidiaries, like Mercury and Lincoln. Just appear to be links to two of their best sellers (Mustang and Bronco).

No doubt many people will by a V8 Taurus with a pony emblem, which is what it would actually be.
and the 2.7EB+EV version would be called a SHO.

No objections there, if it's a 2-door, pony car. Drive trains will evolve--remember the Pinto-based Mustangs of the 70s? Much different than slapping horse on a 4-door or SUV.

just sell the Mustang Lightning already! That show/drag car from last year. Or maybe 'Mustang e-Tron' oh wait, that movie reference was grabbed by Audi already.

LOOK AGAIN in the top left corner, separate links for the Bronco and Mustang brands. If you click on them they send you to a page where it has the Mustang Family with the Mustang and Mach-E and the Bronco Family has Both the Bronco and the Sport. Look at the screen shot below.

They will probably add multiple models to each family over the next few years. Bronco pickup and 4-door Mustang are already heavy rumors. I'm hoping for a Full-size Bronco, the size of the "OJ" 1995 Bronco, built on a shortened Raptor chassis myself.

Maybe they'll use the Mustang "family" to get around the SUV-Only, except Mustang rule from the last CEO? If so I want a 2 door Mustang with a real back seat, they could call it a Mustang Torino, and if it had a Coyote, I'd write the check right now! Heck, make a Sport UTE version with a bed out back and call it a Mustang Ranchero. That would super cool, and for kicks, supercharge the 5.0L it and call it the Mustang Lightning!

The thunderbird was not a crown vic and neither is a 3 or 5 series. Honestly, that's what I would like the most, a personal cruiser that had enough room for a full sized adult in the back.

Yes, I would prefer 4 doors, even without kids. Makes it easier to get the 4 footed kids to the park and the vet, and my garage has a post in the middle of the bays making a 2d hard to get in and out of by itself without worrying about dings. That said, I am not opposed to a 2 door, I've had 3 of them in the past.

Looked again, and I see the same thing you posted in the screen shot. Up top, they have a link to Bronco and Mustang respectively. That makes sense from a marketing perspective. They are hot selling models and they want to draw attention to them. If someone wants to see all models, then they just click SUVs, Cars, etc.

That is much different than being a sub-make like Lincoln or Mercury and has nothing to do with making a four-door version.

It's normal to highlight some models and for the highlights to vary depending on the demographic.

Many people say they want or need 4-doors but hardly ever do I see any passengers in the rear seats, not even kids.

I dislike 4-door vehicles because the door openings are smaller and the B-pillar is too forward and obstructs the view over my shoulder.

There are also more pieces to break such as windows and locks which is unnecessary if there are rarely any passengers in the rear seats.

The ideal future is people commuting in 1-seat or 2-seat coupes as personal transportation. Forget public transit and all the multi-door multi-passenger junk.

That is my practical view.

So you actually DO want a Crown Victoria/500/Taurus with a Coyote engine, it sounds like. That's fine, and maybe there are lots of others like you. The Crown Vic with the 4.6 was probably under-powered for people who like some speed. Possibly that's why Ford had trouble selling them and stopped making them years ago. Maybe you are right and with the right name, styling and if they offer enough power more people will like it. If you put a blower on the Coyote in a big, boaty 4 door version of the Mustang, it would make the Crown Vic similar to a Hellcat Charger, which some people like.

I personally don't like big, boaty cars. I think Torino is a better name than Mustang for a mid-size car as well. It doesn't bother me if Ford makes a big 4 door for people like you who always loved the Crown Vic and wish it would be brought back.

Buy a Taurus then. That's another 4 door Ford car. They do offer models with twin turbo V6s that make good power. Oh yeah, but the Taurus didn't sell well. Not too many people wanted them.

I wouldn't buy a 4 door "Mustang" no matter how much power was available.

Doesn't matter shit to me, I have no plans to ever buy another Mustang, just keep adding more go fast/stop fast stuff to the one I've got and carry on. Love this car, so much fun on track. Just going to keep taking more and more non go fast stuff out of it and adding more go fast stuff to it. I'm looking into a big enough plot to get buried in the thing. :like::crackup:
