What is accomplished with the drop down option of modified slave cylinder? Thanks

This clutch requires that you swap to the tall slave cylinder like what came in a MT82 not the short style slave that is in the GT350. To run the tall style slave on the GT350 it requires a portion machined off like the stock 350 slave. Se pictures below.
