Anyone heard of Rica tuning? I came across their website while looking for an alternative to have my car tuned:

http://www.rica.nl/chiptuning.php#chiptuning

Their Stage 1 and Stage 2 tuning programs seem to add significant hp and torque:

Stage 1:
356 hp @ 5745 rpm (+39 hp)
510 Nm @ 2900 rpm (+78 Nm)

Stage 2:
370 hp @ 5745 rpm (+53 hp)
533 Nm @ 2900 rpm (+101 Nm)

They also claim their tuning is dealer-compliant (I don't know what this means in regards to the car warranty though). Maybe this is a nice tuning alternative for EU edition Mustangs?

Anyone with experience with them? I am seriously thinking of going this direction.

Hi makissig. Do not know about them at all.
But I see you have an automatic.
Do not know for the Mustang but for most cars tuning with an auto is not ideal.
Some cars like Audi can be ruined by it.
But probably some others will tell us there is no risk neither with an automatic?
Anyway good luck!

I did not know that tuning an auto car is not ideal... I will do some research on the issue. Thanks for that anyway.

RICA are specialised Volvo tuners and they have been around for a very long time (15yrs+).

However, im 99.9% certain that their Mustang tune will not be their own, i.e. its bought from somebody else. The question is, who have they bought it from... and on the small possibility that it is a propriety tune... how much R&D did they do, what are their failure rates etc etc?

For ECU tuning, I can only ever recommend using a very experienced Mustang specific tuner.... and that inevitably means going American.

LUND are top of the tree in my opinion. They have tuned thousand and thousands of Mustangs and have unrivalled knowledge.

I wonder what "100% dealership service compliant" means.

I'm guessing it means that if you get a software update, you wont lose the tune. Which you wont have with the others either that word with a hand tuner, cause you can just put it on yourself.

If I were you, might as well get the best:

- Cobb Accessport and Tune+ Pro-tune (+trans-tune for your AT) for the Ecoboost
- Ngauge and Lund for a GT

Had a customers over yesterday that went to a local tuner that does multiple car brands. Difference with my Cobb + Tune+ was day and night honestly.

Good to hear from you PJ. As you can see I am still in search of the best tuning strategy for my EB. Thanks for the comments.

It's a company in the Netherlands and they have an official dealer in my country who will do the installation of the tune. I already paid them a visit and discussed with them. So I guess they will get all the data they need from my car before the installation - if I decide to go with them. My main concern is that there seems to be no experience from other Mustang owners in regards to their tunes.

Their stage 1 and 2 tunes seem really attractive. I have contacted them by email and I am waiting for their comments before making any decision.

If you want honest advice, don't do it. They have little to no Mustang experience. Stick to a company such as Cobb or Lund who have years of experience and a proven solid tune.

The problem is that I tried to contact them by email several times but they never replied. It's as if they do not exist...

LUND have always replied to any email enquiry I have had <48hrs.

Are you sure the email isnt ending up in your spam folder or similar?

In any case, what is it that you are interested to know?

Another advantage of using an US based tuner like COBB or LUND is that there are 100s or even 1000s of owners on this very site who can (honestly) answer your questions.

Try posting your query in the appropriate section on here, and Ill bet you'll get an answer almost immediately.

You can buy a Cobb Accessport anywhere and buy a tune from Tune+ online. And I'm sure Mustangmusthaves can assist you. I'd say problem solved.

Yeah, I am leaning towards the Cobb Accessport after all. No need to experiment with the unknown!
