Repurposing factory rocker switches - anyone have any experience playing with them?

My exhaust mode rocker switch has no use since I installed the exhaust override, and I have a couple uses it would be good for if it's not terribly difficult to repurpose it. I have a feeling it is not simple, my guess is that it's a software-driven toggle, but I figured I'd ask.
