A recently developed a crack in the drivers and passenger side headers requiring replacement. I am suspicious that damaged exhaust dampers contributed to the failure. The dampers cannot be ordered from Ford. They will only sell them as a part of the catalytic converter assembly whick is $1000+
So, I saw that Kooks made a damper assembly 4 there GT 350 Exhaust. The part number is 1154 DKIT. The cost is $40 The Kooks kit comes with 2 aluminum dampers, a bolt / nut and 2 rubber gaskets.
The kooks set up weighs 13.15 oz. The half of the factory damper I have left weights 7.2 oz so x 2 that and its pretty close to the stock set up.
I have included some pics of other measurements for reference.
All in all this seems very close to stock.
Install is a direct swap. You can unbolt the factory set up with a 15 mm box wrench and just bolt up the Kooks Damper. I used some red loctite on the bolt to be safe.
