Seems like it could be a little bit of psychoacoustic foolery going on... since the original center channel is just a full-range speaker it probably doesn't play as high as the new Polks play because they have a tweeter. So, more high frequencies coming from the dash only makes it seem like there is more bass coming from the doors because your soundstage has been raised.So I replaced my center speaker with a Polk db351. Had to modify the grill a bit but I am very happy with the speaker. Thanks to @Chef_jpd for the referral.
Odd thing is that my bass coming from the doors seems better. Is that just because the noise is cleaned up, or is it because somehow that speaker isn't using the low signal(used the bass blocker) and there is more for the doors?
