My 2017 is still running strong. Over 16000 hard miles on the current Whipple setup and 3.625 pulley. The only problems Ive had were with torn CV boots and I burned up the factory clutch last weekend. Not bad for a 850rwhp car on pump 93.

Nice .
Do you think that’s a lot of power for 93 ?
I think the best thing one can do other than swapping OPG is also to get a an aftermarket tune .
I think my stock engine would may be have survived if I did that .
I thought E85 would also help but who needs that if you can make that kind of power on 93 .
Have you ever run it at the drag strip ?
If you have what does it trap in the 1/4 ?

I used to think it was a lot of power of 93, but it doesn't knock even at 18.5 degrees of timing so I trust it now. In the past Id run MS109 and I have a meth system on the the car but I hardly fill the tank these days.
I don't trust the e85 in my area, the quality varies greatly season to season. I think a lot of guys get tuned to full kill on quality e85 and then end up blowing their cars up not knowing the were running pump station watered down e60 or lower.
Im still on a Whipple based tune. Its been gutted and changed but the airflow and fueling tables are still the same.
This current setup has gone bottom 10's @ 143 on Nitto NT05r's

Nice . How much boost with the 3.625 pulley do you see ?
Stock exhaust or long time headers ?

That’s a lot more power than I would have expected for 18.5 * with that pulley but the trap speed does not lie . Lol
Well done .

I now have a Lund tune and with the E85(I always test and about to install a sensor like I have in my other cars ) see about 21.5 * with the knock sensors adding about 5*(-KR).
I am only seeing about 14 per my boost gauge.
I was waiting to fully break in my clutch before I put it on a dyno but I am about ready as I have 1000 miles on new motor /clutch .
It feels fast per my butt dyno so I am guessing about 900 whp .
I don’t think I am seeing slip on the logs but the load seems lower compared to what I see with my 18 GT with same size pulley .
I know per the Whipple chart I should be down to a 102.5 belt but it seems it would way too short and it’s still feels tight with the 106 belt kit came with .
I wonder if my belt is routed the way that requires a longer belt ?

Is that seriously the price? That’s fxckn ridiculous. The Mercury racing motors I used to buy for my Cats were north of 1000hp and were under major load and banging the rev limiters constantly. They were no where near that in cost.

So another GT350. Got it lol

What’s the consensus on a pump gas tune from lund, pbd, and only wanting a mild 650-675.

My boost gauge says 11 maybe 12ish on the 3.625, and yeah I have kooks stepped long tubes and full 3" Magnaflow exhaust.

I think you could exceed those goals by 150hp on the stock whipple tune on 91.....

Don't let the uninformed make you guys think every GT350 that Whipples gets blown. I'm sure there's been plenty of blown motor cars from all forced induction types. It's how well the work was done, weak points upgraded, especially the tune, how you drive, cooling upgrades, the gas you put in, its many things. Spend the money to get it done right the first time, and the chances your engine will last goes up. I know a few GT350's in Houston that are Whipple'd and still running strong, including mine. 30k miles on the odometer, and over 16k miles with the Whipple.

Change out your OPG and Crank Sprocket for one, and make sure you grab a great tuner! I hired Rob @ Palm Beach. I'm pushing over 800 to the rear wheels on pump 93 with the 3.750 pulley. Could I go smaller pulley, or E85 and grab over 900? yes, but I don't want to be greedy and continue to keep pushing the limits of my car. So 600 - 700 whp should be no problem for anyone looking to up their power and not worry. That's a very safe number, just make sure everything is done right the first time.

Question: For those Whipple'd, does anyone road course / track them? Are you using for drag racing? Or just fun street driving.

I have a 2007 GT500 convertible with a 3.4 Whipple and love it for drag racing and street driving. Also, have GT350R and thinking to add FI but have not seen anyone post with FI on the track

YOu're going to have heat issues with a PD on the road course unless you're running like 6 - 7 PSI. And even still, you should get a Carter's Customs hood vent. Heat out out out.

Mine is for street use. I go on occasional fun runs with a crew on some high speed twisty's out in the country, but never on a professional course. Engine oil temps have gotten to 230 when I've been heavy on the throttle for an hour or so during those runs, but nothing too concerning. Just be sure to grab your cooling upgrades ie. Spal fans, 3-core radiator, MMR head cooling kit, Watter Wetter or Purple Ice Coolant additive's. I burned a little oil (maybe half quart) during that oil change interval when I was running the car hard, but its been back to no oil burn driving normal with the occasional spirited runs :fingerscrossed:
