Any spouse/fiance that urges the other to get rid of their vehicle that makes them happy isn't worth being with.

That said, sounds like Kona blue is the closest match to the DIB which can only be had on used models now that its out of production. Good luck in your search...

Camo wrap to hide it from your fiance. Joking aside, I'd go with lighting blue 2018 w/performance pack.

LOL at all the relationship therapists.

Kona Blue is a nice color. I just got a 18 in KB and love it. I came from a white 16 so it's not saying much as far as personality. It's a color with multiple personalities. In normal lighting conditions it appears as a deep dark blue. In bright lighting conditions it turns into a near lightning blue color. When changing angles it sometimes gives off a purplish hue. In some darker conditions it almost comes off as being black. I've had numerous people ask me if it was a one of the multiple colors I listed.

What I will say is, DON"T SETTLE FOR LESS THAN WHAT YOU WANT!!! Do YOU work? Do YOU contribute to the household? Then get what YOU want. I love the sh*t out of my DIB '16 GT PP and couldn't possibly think about getting rid of it. I spoil that car almost as much as my ridiculously spoiled, little brunette fiance.
This.

If you don't buy exactly what you want, you won't be happy with it. My 2012 GT was a base car and I forever had wished I spent the money on a premium.

And lol I'm with everyone else on not having enough cars for both people. We are taking my fiancees lease back next month and will be down to 3 cars for a couple months and I am freaking out.

I love my DIB/Ceramic combo. If I had to choose an '18 I would go with either Kona or the Burgundy Velvet. Love those both. Can't stand the Lightning or Grabber (ugh).

I'd avoid buying new again. Its tough to stomach what you might have lost in depreciation from buying new and selling, wouldn't want to do it twice. Can probably scoop up a used DIB Eco for super cheap now.

Get the car you want.

Of several magnitudes more importance: Make sure it's the mate you want.
I would be leery of buying a used car sight unseen and shipped. It's a sales persons wet dream, you have nothing to go against if shit hits the fan.

Or, just for fun, if you can find a dealership with a good relationship with the factory.... see if you can order a custom color. It was possible back in the day, and then you could potentially wind up with a one-of-one Mustang in a special order Deep Impact Blue.

Stranger things have happened. It's also not like you're asking them to paint it Hummer Camo, you'd be asking for a discontinued color. It's not an unreasonable request, but it will probably cost a few scheckles up front.

We used to be able to do this up until somewhere in the 90's. I've seen many Chrysler Corporation cars, namely a few Challengers and Chargers that were actually painted Chrysler colours, not Dodge colours. I also know of a few AMC Javelins that were Code 99 on the door tag (stands for non-standard color) and they were painted Chevrolet Rallye Green!

so much here...

I would probably take kona over DIB. Im my eyes DIB has more violet. If given the option of blues it would be tough between lightning and kona.

Really If I were to do it all over again I would go avalanche, black or LB GT 350. just my .02 and everyone's different.

Good luck OP, were in your corner.

Thinking your bf may not like all the attention u get driving the DIB Mustang??? My wife had a 2014 DIB , awesome color, she loves blue of course, sold it now have a Lightening blue 2018. At first i thought it was a little too light but def like it better than the DIB in direct sunlight. Also looks awesome at dusk. Which DIB also does. I havent seen a Kona blue 18 yet . I think theres a new Blue coming out very soon on the 19 models, maybe check it out. Good luck with both problems! Lol

I have a DIB ecoboost premium with ceramic seats too, and I love the color combo. My heart goes out to you. I hope you can find a replacement soon! I am sure you will be able to find something you really like, even if you have to change up the colors. Were there any other colors that caught your eye? This could be an opportunity to change things up rather than just replace the previous one. Just a thought.

I’d say if you can afford it, def go for the 2018 - as others who have come out of a 2015-2017 will tell ya, the 2018’s are totally different (not just the physical appearance or added gadgets) in the way they perform and handle...

Test drive a 2018 for a good 30 minutes where you can get a feel for it, in all gears, using all drive modes and put it through some paces on straight and curved roads... if you had a 2015, you be able to agree with what I’m talking about after the test drive.

Good luck with whatever decision makes you whole again!
