I too run a stereo mic with foam over the mic, inside a windsock, inside a 3d printed case. I also just throw it in to the trunk by wedging it into the foam as well sometimes. Audio quality is much improved, but I can still blow out the high end of the audio sometimes when using the external mic placement leading to pops in the audio.

You can see the 3D printed mount here above my license plate

Mic inside in the trunk

Mic outside on the bumper - you can hear the cracks when the audio blows out the mics.
Geez they let you folks drive in shorts?? Is that SCCA Autocross?

Yes. I also drive in shorts during the autocross series with Atlanta Motorsports Park and the downforce battles at Lanier Raceway with Caffeine and Octane.

Wow up here in the Midwest we're happy if they let us run in short sleeves in July. I see your in GA tho. I do HPDE so maybe the autocross being single car at a time vs. run groups they're less concerned about it.

Safety rules between track day events and autocross are not comparable in the slightest.

I run track days in a shorts and a T shirt, as well as AutoX. The rule varies by the club.

I don't like doing it, but when its 110 out, I am not trying to run PB's, and the groups I go with all have the same mindset. Summertime is for driving mechanics, fall-spring for going fast.

My event this weekend will have more substantial clothing on because folks are ready to goo 100% again.
