So I just bought these rear quarter window louvers and I need need help making a decision on panting them the same color as the car or painting them a matte black. I just dont want to have to paint twice. Anyone have pics of them painted matte black on a black car?

when my louvers came in, they had a matte black look .. I was trying to decide whether to leave that cool or color match them to my car (race red) .. ultimately I went with gloss black over the matte .. I feel it blends in more with the lines of the windows especially if there are tints .. it's a subtle change but nothing too gaudy where you're trying TOO hard to make it stand out .. I absolutely love the louvers but either way you're going to be happy just think a gloss black like the paint/tinted windows retains the flow better .. good luck !!

I ordered on Ebay from from OEM Direct. They were only $99. I thought for sure I was going to get some flimsy louvers but they are pretty nice. Exceeded my expectations of what I thought they were going to be and they fit well. I liked the ones from MMR but couldn't see paying that much for them.

Thanks viOlaziOne. My louvers came shiny black plastic (as in the pic) so I had an idea of what they would look like with that sheen and was leaning towards that direction.

I'd go with gloss.

Do you have any pictures of your race red stang with these louvers? I'm interested how it looks, since i'll probably be doing the same thing.

Do you have a link for where you got yours on ebay? Assuming it was probably somebody mass producing and not just selling a single pair. :-)

when I bought the louvers, there really wasn't a lot of choice on ebay for them but now that I'm searching (LOL) there seems to be a LOT more now and even in color now too .. I'll keep looking but there seems to be a lot of overlap there now

I'm WAY happier with the gloss because my windows are tinted and it flows MUCH better in my opinion than the red or any other shade of black (but that's because I have sorta dark tints)

Yeah, I like how the gloss black looks on the red. I'm planning to get a rear window louver, and playing with the idea of having quarters with it too... I'm just nervous about it being almost too flashy - which is not what I'm looking to have happen. I may just settle for tints on the rear / rear quarters with only the rear louver.
Up here in NH, we aren't allowed tints on our front windows or windshield, completely cramping our style! lol
