REAR license plate holes?!?

I swear, I’m not a total idiot. Got plates today and still need to get bolts for them. Do I have to punch these holes out or something? Or is there something I’m missing? It doesn’t appear that these holes are threaded or deep enough to hold a bolt.

Any help for this newb is appreciated. Hahaha.

Hmmm that look like the wrong holes ? My plate is held from the top. The pic you show I cannot tell the orientation of the holes and were the plate goes.

If I recall mine looked the same. I simply used the provided screws and screwed them into the middle of the hole. They treaded into the plastic.

These were the screws provided.

Gotcha. I wasn’t provided any screws, but I’ll get some. Just wanted to make sure I wasn’t going to damage the bumper.

In with all the random BS the dealer gave me that I never really looked through.

Use a ratchet to turn the bolts. A screwdriver is likely to slip and you run the risk of scratching the paint.

I had a 2016 and now a 2017. And both cars the screws were in a small sealed pkg. inside the plastic bag with the floor mats in the trunk.
