The other day I saw a mustang with the 5.0 badge on the side, sounded like a V8, but with the rear gt badge swapped for the chrome tribar pony that Ford Australia has as an option. Must say it looked pretty good imo but not sure if I would want to take off the GT badge as people might assume it is the turbo 4 (no disrespect to the turbo brigade) but the gt badge is a point of difference between the models. Has anyone done that swap?

Cheers
Mustang Mick :)

I prefer the US GT deck lid panel as opposed to the export faux gas cap GT panel that we get here (it remains in my spare bedroom, waiting to be fitted).

It all comes down to personal preference, though. One of the most heavily modded GT owners on this sub-forum has the EcoBoost pony deck lid panel fitted to his ride.

Not sure why anyone would care what others think.

You are right Drewbo, it is personal preference how you want your stang to look.

I was just wondering if removing the only GT badge on the car was a sin to most long term (old) mustang owners. I am new to the mustang world and after reading your reply I am guessing no one really does care, which is nice to hear.

As you know the tribar mustang badge is different to the other badges. I like it as much as the GT badge. It just made me have a closer look to see what model it was, be it gt or eco. That's what made me think I might do the same but didn't know if I was playing with the gods.

Cheers

Not sure if you're aware but the badge cannot be removed as there are fixing points. The complete rear panel needs to be replaced.

I have the blank decklid on mine with a howler badge somewhere in my garage. The faux fuel filler was the first modification (deletion) I did to my car

I've got the blank panel for the de-badged look. Will black out the pony and 5.0 badges too

I don't think I'll have anyone wondering if it's a 4 cylinder haha the exhaust will take care of that. As above though, the only person that should matter when it comes to mods is you
