Is it me, or does the mustang have very limited options in terms of rear brake calipers?

The 6-pot front brake rotors, calipers, and pads can be had for $1300 which is pretty good considering the "race" brakes are $4900+

But there doesn't seem to be anything reasonable for the rear brake calipers. From factory, they look a little weak.

I know the rear brakes have less stress on than compared to the front brakes. It's too bad the GT350R brakes aren't a bolt-on option as the 350's knuckles are different.

Any suggestions, other than coughing up $5000 for race brakes?

What legitimate concerns about them do you have?

Anything like this?

Jeez, I said they LOOK a little weak, I didn't say anything about performance.. I'm just looking for something that LOOKS a little better without spending $5k.

There is no such thing as a 'cheap' bbk.....

If there was ANYTHING i'd want to just pony up and spend the money on, it would be the parts that stop me from going 65+into whatever is in front of me, ya know?

BBKs are expensive. But there's no such thing as a 'beefy rear caliper', as 75% of the stopping comes from the front.

Unless you're doing 100mph in reverse :D

Weak? Are you kidding me? The Boss 302 came with 14"/11" front/rear just a couple years ago, this car has 15"/13" front/rear. You've got to be trolling.
He's talking about the puny looking single piston caliper.

It's more of a cosmetic upgrade to change the rear brakes out. I agree though, I wish there was a more affordable bolt on option to replace the rear brakes.

Find pictures of the upcoming Camaro 1LE package to see a nice looking factory performance rear brake option.

Something like this...

Yes, exactly what I'm talking about.

This. Thank you.

The GT350's have a set on their front/rears, it's too bad nothing like that can trickle down to the GT's.

I believe you could manage getting the GT350 rear calipers and rotors on the GT. Front is a different story.

The moment someone does this and confirms that it can work, I'll do it myself.

The GT350 IRS uses Aluminum, the Mustangs uses Steel.

They are different altogether - cannot swap directly, as far as I know.

For the front knuckles, yes. I don't believe the rears are different.

i read somewhere that you have to do a lot of work to get the parking brake to integrate with the GT350 calipers

G2 caliper paint kit could help, otherwise Wilwood makes a rear upgrade I believe but is spendy.
