What am I missing, Tony...why not?
Well...I guess technically it would work. it will bolt on and clear the rear brake will just be sticking outside the wheel well an 1 inch ! So if you want to smash your quarters go ahead.....

To get a single wheel to work on both the front and back some type of wheel/hub spacer will have to be used......PERIOD

Damn and I saved my spare from my 2016 Cali Special thinking I could use it, dang it.

So wait a minute? Which is the problem the front or the back with the spare? will work in the back and not the front? Or vice versa?

There is no such thing as a spare for gt500 or gt350 OEM wise.. anything you have will not work front or rear

Sorry I didn't reply earlier, but it's about 900+ per spare. Ill have to reference the text from terrance. Its not cheap, but if you have to have it, its an option.....

So there is no "spare" oem or non oem that would work in the front or back? I'm not trying to be difficult. But I thought if you have a spare that say works for the back but not the front due to the brakes and clearance but will work in the back, then if you really really want a spare, and one of the front tires needs to be replaced I figured you can take one of the back tires and put it in the front and put the spare in the back and off you go. Just thinking out of the box.

I did a 350 spare back in the day. Lost 3” of trunk height but worth it. Fast forward 4 1/2 years and had Modernspare do a 6” wide kit for my M5 and X7. Actually the same wheel for both cars but a different spacer used. $350 per kit. I’m not sure if they do a gt500 kit but they didn’t do an M5 kit either until I agreed to be their test mule. Worth an inquiry.

Front and back wheels are NOT interchangeable period....jack your car up and try it will not work either way....actually the front wheel will fit and bolt onto back but will stick out an inch or so.

Sorry for the delay gents. I can build a 20x8 spare that bolts directly on all 4 corners. Just shipped one last week.

Will also accept a variety of 20” Michelin tires so you can drive on it without feeling though it’s about to grenade. It will keep the same overall diameter of the existing wheels so no Torsen issues. Fitment in the trunk recess is a maybe, so a tire tote bag is the best idea. In the event you ever need it, you will want that tote to put your blown wheel/tire in before shoving it in the car anyway.

Cost for a single one would be about $950. Less if we have 4 or more. Whatever design you want and color we offer.

These are two I built recently. One for a GT500 and one for a GT350.

Interesting the paranoia on this to me.
I have AAA and in 24+ years of Mustang ownership I haven’t been stranded by a flat.
When needed AAA has always been great for my lowered performance Mustangs.
Definitely would question the need to worry about not having a spare every time driving the car.

Bimini: I would suggest that you can't appreciate the spare if you've never had a horrible towing experience.

Like Jim, you mentioned triple A as well but since you've never needed them for a flat, how do you know the wrecker will be appropriate?

Bottom line is, the wrecker and operator could wind up doing a whole lot more damage money-wise than T's cost for a true spare.

Terrance: I knew you'd have a solution.

I'm in.

So you are looking at something like this for a spare? Tire height wise, it's right in the middle between the front and rear tires.

https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tire...R0PS4SXL&vehicleSearch=false&fromCompare1=yes

If we can buy multiples and bring the price down, I am interested in being part of a group. I have the extra set of wheels at home, but I too am not a fan of potential wrecker issues, though I have been a member of AAA forever and never had a problem.

Between wheel and tire we are adding what 42-44lbs give or take to the trunk? Not bad.

The other thing that comes to mind here is, if you have CFTP wheels or you have invested in a set of Signature Wheels do you really want whatever random tire shop potentially damaging your wheels because that's where you ended up after your tow? This is piece of mind on that. Will have to measure the wheel well in the trunk and even if the liner pops up a little bit over the wheel if it fits inside the well it could really be a no brainer.
