Real spare tire for the 2020 GT500

They say manufacturers package spares up to a 25% difference, a less than 1 inch difference is a lot less than 25%. In fact it’s less than 5%. Might be okay? More research required.

So now that our wheels are coming in, time to pick tires. Going to have to take some measurements of the hole in the rear. But ... Looking even at some 225/235 35 tires, with a diameter of 26.2/26.4" is interesting. Again you are within 5% of the factory tire, which seems well within the range of what the diff is capable of handling per the Torsen references posted above.

The tire actually dropping into the well would be a nice bonus.

Jared: My guess is, it will and I am hopeful that the eight-inch rim with a tire size as you suggested will drop right in. I think it will be narrow enough too not to raise the deck floorboard.

But, if not, no big deal. I don't see my wife and I ever taking this car on a road trip so odds are it'll never be more than perhaps twenty miles from the house which will make retrieval of the "parachute" from home, even if it doesn't fit, No Big Deal compared to the alternative.

Height is definately 7" so it will raise the floor for sure

Dang it! We'll see how bad it is and odds are, I'll just keep it at the house and carry the jack, etc. Hmm..I guess I could wood butcher some supports to raise it the same amount all around...Velcro some blocks of 2x4 down in strategic locations and cover them with rubber. Worth taking a look at.

Maybe I missed it but do Signature produce a spare tire solution for us lowly GT350/R guys?

Ya I knew it would but I would rather have the correct diameter.

It's a spare and so not sure what correct means as generally the spare is not same size,shape, and wheel diameter as stock. In any case I believe this is your only option.
