Awesome cars...but not an FR. My opinion. Sad feelings hurt. Not intended.

No worries and certainly no sad feelings as just wanted to point out that aside from the 2015 R's there are some other very collectible GT350R's out there including these 2 rare and very collectible cars. 🙏

Being an old guy and sometimes not too intelligent what is an "FR"? :sunglasses:

The chassis preface. My ‘16 Rs are GRs. GR227 and GR378. Hence HRs, JRs, KRs and LRs. I agree the Pilot Production cars are cool, but I think only the 37 ‘15 Rs will fetch a high dollar from collectors in the distant future.

Thanks for the clarification on the "FR" designation as that is where you had me confused.

Just for reference the 2015 R's did not have an "R" in their chassis designation with the 37 cars from 2015 being "F0001 thru F0037".

Only with the launch of the 2016 GT350 cars did Ford start using the "R" for the chassis plate designation and in fact there were a few very early 2016 R models that came without the "R" on the chassis plate as well.

I certainly agree that the 2015 R's will always be collectible and very special cars especially "F0001" which is the very first regular production R model.

Having said that I will suggest that "PP001" which I posted a picture of will be right there with "F0001" in terms of value based on that car being the very first R model produced by Ford as it was assembled at the FRAP ~3 months prior to any one the 37 R models for 2015 including Bill Ford's car.

Based on conversations with various people in the know Ford did not produce and Pilot Production 2015 cars therefore started with "PP001" back in April, 2015.

With respect to "HR001" that was not a Pilot Production car and was specially built for Jamal Hameedi but that R was a very early build back in February, 2016.

Based on conversations with a Ford engineer over the last couple of years it is my understanding that Jamal had a few unique features built into HR001 but unfortunately they would not say know exactly what those features were other than finding out that he had custom exhaust manifolds built for his car and it sounds incredible in combination with the FPC engine and will leave it at that.

HR001 was also the launch car for the 3 new colors for the 2017 MY namely Ruby Red, Grabber Blue and Lightning Blue.

Jamal went down the same path as Bill Ford (F0001) and had his car assembled as a Base R model therefore it came with ~15 delete items which just adds to the exclusivity of this very cool car.

Congratulations on owning two 2016 R models as that is very cool with one coming in Lightning Blue?? :like: :like:

Also keep in mind that aside from the very limited 2015 GT350R production year the 2016 MY had the lowest number of R's produced over the 5 year regular production run including the 2020 cars and you have 2 of them!

How cool is that!!

At $76,650 I suggest that is pretty good money for an extremely low mileage 2016 R and is a very good indication of where the present market is for the 2nd generation GT350's especially since production closed permanently for this Shelby model some 4 months ago.

What made me nervous about this car is how few miles it had, how long it sat, and that it is no longer under any warranty. I believe the buyer can still purchase an extended warranty on this, correct?

places like flood Ford and Anderson Koch offer ESP up to 41 months so on a 2017 that's going to be tight.

Oh, its not an additional 41 months from today? It's when the original Ford warranty ends?

from date of purchase. but I'm wondering if it's not titled yet, then I would think the buyer is good to go for a while. I don't recall if that red R was titled...

I believe it was. (Just checked BAT listing, says the car has a clean Kentucky title in the seller's name). The seller said he bought it new August of 2017, drove it home from the dealer and never touched it again, due to kids, work, etc.

But thanks for the info, I learned something new.
