I really want to run the Roval before they tear it down too. There's a date on 11/6 that I'd like to make.
Don't rush, but if you come down on 11/6, lemme know. Speed Ventures just did their schedule and have a couple of events, and even NASA SoCal has two ACS events in 2022. Don't know what happened, perhaps NASCAR couldn't get the proper permits, not much about it, but they're still here, at least in 2022.

Thanks for the heads up Patrick! I really want to run that but definitely not ready yet.

10/30/21: The boys from the car club and I went out and supported a United Cerebral Palsy Northbay event called Wheely Fun Day. We brought plenty of wheels and the kids loved it! #carsforacause #carsforthecommunity

03/25/22: My clutch blew up a week or two ago and I been collecting some parts for the rebuild:

Exedy Mach 500 Clutch
Exedy Lightweight Flywheel
McLeod S/S Clutch Line
ARP Clutch Bolts & FP Flywheel bolts

Here's the old disk

I had Trent Musser Motorsports do the work. It was in n out in a day. Pretty amazing.

While at the track I went to my other friends new shop, DEVSPEED (Formerly SGK) because they set up a bunch of new tire mounting, balancing and alignment gear to get folks in n out efficiently.

I got the car aligned and swapped out the rear tires for a Porsche spec (NO) Sport Cup 2.
IMG_2474.jpg

I went for a mild track set up but will probably go more aggressive later in the season.

05/31/22: Went back to DEVSPEED to swap a tire and fine tune the alignment after. Talked a lot of shop and got wind of some cool new changes on the horizon.

Speaking of horizon, I saw the start of the Northbay Fire Season as well. :frown:

Lot's of activity between the fire crews, aircraft, herders gathering their livestock, track operations moving stuff around (it was on the backside of sonoma raceway). Very busy day for a lot of people.

08/06/22: Did the Nor Cal Shelby American Auto Club Mini-Nats at Sonoma on Saturday (then CnC today. Belted out some decent lap times for being away from Sonoma for about a year. Best thing is I saw a ton of friends I haven't seen in a while and a TON of cool cars.

The top 2 pix are from a super cool homie @evenmetalmusang from SAAC

Thanks to Trent Musser and the folks at Devspeed the car was fast right out of the box Best was a 1:58.xx which is not bad but a ways off from getting to my PB and improving on it.

I got a bunch of footage and I'll make a recap soon.

Wzup party peeps,

As you may or may not know my car club and I like to put on events that are not just fun but benefit the community as well.

This year we are putting on a car show in partnership with the United Cerebral Palsy of the Northbay. The show will have 2 bands, free lunch, VR SIm Racing as well as trophies for car show entrants. The top cars will be picked by the children that attend the Cypress School, the UCPNB affiliate.

It is a family friendly event with trick or treating and everyone is invited to bring a wheeled object to ride with the kids on the flat paved track.

So my upstairs neighbor had some type of water leak and all this gross water dumped into my garage and all over my car.

I was pissed...I just washed the car a couple day earlier and was prepping it for a Food-Drive benefit Car show.

I reached out to my neighbor who has a auto detail business and luckily he had a spot to put me in the following day!

Wzup party people,

As you all know, I'm all about getting the most performance out of my Mustang. One of the biggest opponents of performance is weight and the Mustang has a lot of it. I've taken a bunch of non-essential parts out, installed the lightest parts I can afford and used a lot of Carbon Fiber in the process. One of the easiest parts to address is the OEM battery. The Antigravity ATX-20 HD Li battery comes in at 4.6 lbs and deletes 19.8 lbs and is as simple as...installing a battery. :like:

However one of the things about a Lithium-ion battery is that is smaller than the stock unit and does not fit in the battery box. That's where I come in.

I've designed/developed a 3D printed battery tray out of Nylon Carbon Fiber that weighs 160 grams (.35 lbs) and fits the battery and housing perfectly!
1.jpg

About the material: Nylon Carbon Fiber Filament is the perfect combination of tough and light. With a density about 33% lower than Nylon Flame filament and a tensile strength about 58% greater than ordinary nylon you get less mass and more strength.

I teamed up with a local business to prove and develop the concept. We went through 18 design iterations and 5 finished prints.

My OEM battery weighs in at 24.4 lbs. Other brands may differ slightly.

The AntiGravity ATX-20 HD comes in at 4.6 lbs and a lot smaller.
IMG_5272.JPG

I calculate a ~3736 lb curb weight with this installed.

Let me know what you think!

08/26/23: Been MIA lately due to a back injury but finally got to hit the track again for the SAAC Mini Nats at Sonoma. It was a great time and it felt so good to be back!

10/26/23: I discovered several issues while at Thunderhill with the Abel folks so after that event I got to work and addressed some critical points in the car. Check it out and let me know what you think in the comments.

A fun battle:

A not so fast lap but the best I could do that day:

I'm hoping that with regular running and avoiding injury next season I can be sub 2 at T-Hill :like:
