I don’t know if a rock got caught but saw this after i cleaned the rim. Didn’t hear any kind of odd noise. It goes around the whole circumference of the rim. Anyone else have something similar?

I don't have an R but I've seen a few posts on this forum with similar issues. One of the many reasons that some R owners do not run their CF wheels on the street. Debris gets caught and gouges the wheel.

Is that the rear wheel? The Carbon wheels leave very little room in between the caliper and like mentioned above, rocks/debris can get stuck in between and gouge the wheel.

Yeah its the driver side rear. There is hardly any room between the caliper and the inner part of the rim. I swear this car is just a magnet for rocks. I had a rock that got wedged between the CF spoiler and truck top. No clue how that happened but luckily it didn’t cause any damage like this.

Ya the Cup 2 tires pick up everything. Even with the splash guards in front, sometimes I'll still get rocks on the side skirts behind the wheels.

What? He got a rock wedged between his caliper and wheel drum.

It happens, it can be fixed.

Many use street wheels to avoid the costly repair. I wrote a thread detailing the process.

Judging by what I see, you don't have to do anything except live with the cosmetic flaw.

Best of luck to you!

I have it on 3 of my 4 wheels... I just learned to live with it. And I use different wheels for the street, it happened on the way to track in my case.

Or if your R lives mostly on the street, swap the cup2s for PS4S - less rocks thrown around = statistically reduced chances of getting one stuck in there.

this is why I took my carbon fiber wheels off the car as soon as I got it home. That would drive me insane. The paint on your caliper is probably damaged as well.

I washed my carbon fiber wheels before storing them (after taking them off the car) and I ended up with a bunch of swirl marks. I guess I should have used brand new microfiber towels to clean them. That drives me crazy, I can imagine what this would do.

those wheels are one of the best things about the car. run the cf wheels in the heat of summer and signatures the rest of the year.
