I love classic cars but I will not buy one due to the fact that they are death traps if you get into an accident. You could be the greatest driver in the world, but you share the road with many others who are just terrible drivers.
So true...and the reason I already have a "for sale" flyer drafted for my 1970 Buick Skylark. Love the car, has been very fun learning to work on it but I don't want to die in it. And I am first and foremost a driver not a tinkerer so working on it alone will never be enough for me. So this accident in a *very* safe car with cutting edge safety features made me realize how badly I could be injured even in a fender bender while driving the Buick.

At least I still get to hear a nice V8 sound for a little while longer until it sells :D

That's one of the worst 350 accidents I've seen. Hope you bought a lottery ticket when you got out of the ER. Glad to hear you're alive man!

Glad you're ok; the car did its job first and foremost by protecting its occupant.

Wow man, I am sorry for your loss, but glad that you are doing ok. As everyone has said cars can be replaced. I'm impressed just how well the car took the abuse and preserved the passenger compartment.

Holy shit.

I'm glad you walked. Looking back at those photos is scary.

If you can buy that car back for a reasonable price you should be able to make some money on it. If even 2 of those wheels and the spoiler are in good shape you could probably get over 10K out of it.

Glad you are ok. Eye opening pictures.

Note to the buy it back crowd, salvage values on these cars is on the high side of appropriate. I couldn’t believe how much my lightly totaled GT500 sold for. There’s no buying them back cheap.

As everyone else has said, glad you're ok. It's fortunate (sad to say that) that you hit on the passenger side and no one was with you in the car at the time. Things could have been a lot worse... Also, I'm very happy to see that the company I proudly work for builds safe products, designed to keep us intact when the worst occurs.

Add me to the list of people telling you we are glad you are here, the car can be replaced, you can't. And wow, look at how well that S550 chassis protected you, good to see.

I have been absolutely crazy paranoid about Cup2's in the rain, and this makes me think this paranoia is justified. I hope I never get stuck in a huge downpour in the R, but if I do, it's going to be an exercise in extreme caution and a careful drive home or to an area to sit down for a while.

Glad you are ok, that looks pretty nasty.

You should download your event data recorder if you get a chance to. It will have a ton of information and be able to show the severity of the crash in data form. Where is the vehicle located now?

I believe MidwayMustang has it now.
Eric there is a good guy - I've bought a bunch of stuff from him for other cars. Not likely he'll be able to sell that Voodoo motor, though. Not sure he'll even be able to find it.
