i need to get my 2016 mustang GT premium windshield replaced and the place i am going to take it to asked me if it is a manual or electric rear view mirror. electric is going to cost more but i dont know which one it is. I have to move the mirror manually but it is also plugged into something. i dont have lane assist so im not sure which it would be. Is it considered electric because it auto-dims (which i think is the only feature of the mirror)?

Can you see a wire going into it? If yes then it has auto dimming but that has nothing to do with the windshield. Just glue the holder back onto the new glass.

When my windshield was replaced, the only thing they needed to know was if it had rain sensing wipers or not. Mine does not. All of the mirrors are identical.

Its obviously electric based on the wires coming out of it. Not sure how that affects the price.

Ask them what the difference in the windshield is between the 2. Shouldn't make a difference but maybe its the extra step of plugging the wires in.

thats what i was thinking. I would assume that ALL of the newer cars/mustangs (2016 included) would have that electric attachment , so i dont kno why theyre even asking me

Why? I always liked that feature and get annoyed when driving a car without it.
Because they don't work in city areas. You end up getting blinded left and right.

Out of the city, they're fine. Too much ambient light and they think it's daylight, and they don't dim.
