So..... what happened with mine was I had to leave the car running to get the iat2 down to 125 in the staging lanes..... shutting it down would cause the iat2's to spike, so it was better to leave it run. But by the back half my iat2's were bumping 150+ pulling timing...

My main question here is why (with a 1.6 60') is his 1/8th et not a 6?
Definitely better to keep it running and fans on. The highest iat2 I ever had was 140 going through the traps when the ambient was around 80. Only 1 tenth slower than when ambient was in the 60s. That loss was more traction related than heat.

Yeah, his times are weird to say the least.

Ive had 1.5x 60’s and 6.90’s in the 1/8th dont have any real 1/4 mile times on cal2 tho.
But with pbd on 93 runnin 6.5x and 1.47 60’ times so picked up 4/10ths with the pbd tune i doubt ill run 1/4 mile to keep out of 7th gear and save wear tear just to go another 30mph

I was told long ago that cars generally gain 20 mph from 1/8 to 1/4. If it was less than this, something is wrong. If it was more than this, something is fishy. I checked a bunch of time slips and it was largely true on everything from 85 to 140 mph passes. Coyotes have shifted this up due to the shape of the hp curve, but most are still in the 25 mph range. I would be suspicious of 34. His 60’, 1/8 mile mph, and quarter mile time generally go together. I would expect 130-133 on that pass based on the rest of the time slip.

Got my car back. I will say, it feels PLANTED now. I haven't got on it too much yet so no comments on the updated calibration. They dropped the car with new springs, new sway bars, and a tune for Magnaride. Also installed the cradle lockouts I've had for the last year.

More comments tomorrow after I hit the drag strip.

Here are some pics from when I picked it up. There's around 2000hp in this picture (including the SUV that has an LS3 with a CTS-V blower on it).

34 MPH is not out of line for a car making really good power, but certainly not the norm for cars at the power level of the stock cal.
This guy is picking up 32+ with a P1X.

Modern N/A cars should see ~25 MPH in the back half all day.
FI cars are usually closer to 30, and if not, I suspect a lack of power or issue somewhere else.

As far as what kind of power it takes to see legit 34 MPH back half gains?

I'm getting ready to cool all the things! Ain't taking any chances, this time around, lol.

Mishimoto Radiator
Mishimoto Oil Cooler
VMP Triple Pass Heat Exchanger
1320 Junkie Ported Blower
Fuel Injector Clinic 1000s
Li Tuning and Racing/Parker Performance Fuel System (E85)

And I even have a meth kit and a nitrous kit here for shits and giggles, so we'll see what this thing does once we get it back together 💪

Pics of the pistons we melted on the previous setup 😬

I never trust these times where the car runs by itself on a closed track and then posts some ridiculous type time. It usually under these circumstances where some speed shop posts a crazy time. Kind of like Roush's 10.8 on a phase 1 car on closed track in the middle of November. That being said who knows?? There are variables like the catless headers, latest cal, and ms109 (name??) gas that muddy the water.

I haven't but wouldn't Redline Water Wetter be a similar product? I'm using Water Wetter in my intercooler system, in the Whipple.

I don’t think a reputable shop like Brenspeed would post bogus slips. Could be a factory freak.

yeah when I talked to them they were pretty honest about Roush’s issues but also didn’t try to steer me away. They just gave me a whipple quote as a comparison along with come cooling mods. From what I remember they have a pretty legit race team also.
