Thinking about my fuel pump replacement.....I wonder if I would be better off just buying a DW400 pump. I don't think a re-tune is necessary with a higher performance pump. I think it is with a bap, though.

Not sure but Roush told me if I did that, no warranty :frown:

I’ll make you a deal on one, but it doesn’t have the check valve.

What does the check valve do?

Without a checkout valve I believe it cranks long on hot restart, u have to get a high psi check valve and install it in line but some guys say it hurts pump flow?

I was kidding....of course I would never do something unauthorized by Roush.
Ahhhh.....:cwl:

The pump install from ford is free, u might as well give it a go, that's why we have a warranty :sunglasses:

What does the check valve do?
The leading theory is that it prevents vapor-lock. Without it, if you drive the car then let it sit for a while it takes longer to start. Whipple supplied these on their early kits and later changed to the one with a built-in check valve. Some don’t like the check valve because it does restrict the fuel flow some and it’s more like a 430 rather than a 455 lph.

I am still waiting to see what Roush says. My installer wants them to authorize a higher performance pump. I am skepical if they will but he said he would try to get them to do more than just OEM.

I seriously doubt they will do it.

Me too....

One thing that’s positive, seems like Joe from VMP is a very good tuner. Alex Flores gave him major props on his live feed last night, both tuning and mechanical wise. Nice to see other shops getting along :like:

VMP would be my shop if I custom tuned the car

Why VMP for an 18+ ?? Lund and PBD better options in my opinion.

Lund doesn't tune Roush. I have nothing against PBD but VMP has been very responsive when I have had questions. They have a great reputation for tuning Roush supercharged vehicles.
