Been a while since I posted. Figured I'd let you guys know I'm on my third cat replacement. Passenger side was replaced 3 months ago. Replaced again just a week ago. Service rep at the dealer recommended I ditch the cats and go with PBD as they're seeing the Roush cars are constantly needing new cats. Another customer at this dealer has apparently ditched his cats and went with PBD after having the same issues and is extremely pleased with his car now.
What did your dealer tell you in regards to warranty if you go to PBD and ditch the headers?

Looking forward to your results! You had some excellent times with the Roush tune. My understanding is that PBD and VMP are both good with the Roush. Was there a specific reason you chose PBD?

I believe i had the the 123 (or 121) bug as i had my 2 last runs which were 1/4 mile both were at 121 mph coming thru the traps , hoping their torque management with the trans tuning will take care of that and just want a faster 1/8 mile timeslip, best was 6.90 and a 1.54 60' dont know if the 60' will get any better but the timeslips i seen were 6.6x's with their tune. Im thinking a 6.5x-6.6x is abt all you gonna get on 93 octane and i dont think they are putting any better numbers out than the phase II roush tune but definetly in the trans tuning and higher rpms, i got oil pump gears so im not worried there, and my warranty goes out in 6-7 months.
Also got to stay faster than these other guys around here!
I'll report back with some results possibly wednesday if it doesnt rain my hit a track for tnt.
I went with PBD, i dont really have reason why i just havent heard anything to negative about them or any of the other guys but i seen a lot of vids on the roush and feel they have definetly tuned many and have that tune prob down pat. Carlos vera used to run the roush and ashley poole both with good track results.

Greyhorse, you said you were sending them the stock tune. I assume you are talking about the Roush tune that is currently in the car? Do they start with the Roush cal and then tweak it for the base tune? Then you log it and get further tweaks until both you and the tuner are satisfied, correct?

Great thread guys - Ive been trying to consume it all in the past week but its a LOT!
I just purchased a 2018 GT premium A10, with a dealer installed Roush 2650 phase 1. It was installed 5/2018 so it has the 1st gen LTR (heat exchanger). Its bone stock other than the Roush setup (also has a Roush cat back).
I put my Ngauge in to keep an eye on things so I know where IM at. Ive had dozens of mustangs with blowers & n20. VMP, Kenne bell, pro charger, vortech... this is my 1st Roush.
Im real disappointed in the IAT2's. Its right around 50 degrees over ambient which is crazy. This is without even getting into boost while maintaining 70mph on interstate. I called Roush and the guy said that 40 was acceptable, but 50 made him Leary. I plan on upgrading the LTR (heat exchanger) and cost isnt a factor.
Ive had other cars with the VMP dual fan system and I hate the fans running all of the time. Its annoying for city driving and such.
I am a weekend driver - maybe going to the 1/8th mile once a year if that. I just want to get the IAT2's low so I can get off of the Roush tune and get a VMP or PBD tune but I want the IAT2 down first.
Does anyone have real data #'s from this blower using
VMP tripple core with fans?
VMP tripple core w/o fans?
Whipple large Heat exchanger
Any/all suggestions are welcome.
Again, Im not going to ever run back to back 1/4 runs - Im just a bit OCD about high IAT2's.

Thanks!
Don

I have the phase 2 upgrade and my IAT2 temps run around 40 over IAT

I believe that to be correct, i think thats how most tunes are done, i downloaded the stock cal and emailed it they sent back a base 93 octane tune and then i do a idle log and a step rev log up to 3k rpm and send it and thats as far as i got as it was abt 6:30 when i sent it back a little while ago so i assume monday they will tweak it if necessary then prob do a wot from a set rpm etc then send it back and then should be done. I didnt purchase the tune till 3:45 this afternoon so was suprised they were read to start but i figured id run out of time not gonna drive it till i hear back and maybe they will email me back this weekend idk

I may be wrong here, but I always thought the car needed to be flashed to stock and then the aftermarket tuner goes from there? I thought I had heard that once on a VMP video. I may be incorrect though.

Let us know if you can go over the mythical 120mph mark :)

With as many miles as I put on my car, I may follow you sooner than I though.. I'll get to strip in October and go from there.

I have been watching some of the PBD videos. I have thought before that if I go custom tune, it would be with VMP. However, It looks like I need to consider PBD as well. Greyhorse, I am looking forward to your results after you get your tune....not only drag strip results but also your comments on drivability and especially transmission behavior.
