So, these two Norwegians have a hobby of trying to drive "green"... they managed to go 1249 km from the Polar Circle to Kragerø way down south in Norway... on one tank. That's 4.9 l/100km ! Yes, in a manual Mustang Ecoboost. Makes me feel bad about my current 10.4s :D

Along the way someone called the police on them suspecting high alcohol levels because nobody drives a Mustang like that :D (i.e. slowly).

! They almost doubled the average fuel efficiency... great!
Well, if it's a single straight road from polar circle for 1249 km, it's not so uncommon :D

Based on my last full tank my milage dropped from 13.5L/100KM to 12.2L/100KM after I tried the Shell V-Power 98RON, that is on an ecoboost automatic.

Huh... I've been meaning to stake out the Shells around here... My Circle K / Statoil is just so convenient though... right on the "on/off ramp" from my street to the main road...

(though I'm currently getting 10.5ish on that 95 in AT (at around 3000km now))

it's BORING though ;) and if I do many short trips (<4-5km) or stop'n'go traffic it jumps up... so the solution is to take longer drives :D

btw; anyone else watch the "FUEL ECONOMY" screen and notice "consumption" apparently jumps through the roof at idle?!

I think that's not really cause it uses that much at idle, but cause if you're standing still it does use a little fuel to keep the engine turning but you're not moving. So the time it takes to drive 100KM would be infinitely big which makes the computer think the fuel consumption is a infinitely big as well. At least I hope

ah, yea - kind of makes sense... another thing I'm curious about is...

is it more fuel efficient for me to "floor it" to reach my cruising speed faster
OR
is it more fuel efficient to "grandma it" and use "ages" to reach cruising speed?!

slow and steady takes a lot longer (i.e. medium fuel consumption for 20s)
quick and fast takes shorter (i.e. heavy fuel consumption for 5s)

For those of you following the overall fuel economy please notice that the Nr 2 counter resets itself automatically after 10.000 km.

I'm now at 15400km and have a average of 8.9l/100km :) pretty decent for a mustang... and in switzerland you cannot drive fast anyway :) but also have some germany trips done...
