In this photo it looks like the outline of an axe head and handle. Have you tried spraying it with luminol?

Sorry for the slow updated...
Anyway, I confirmed it was a coolant leak. Since the original post, I've been adding about a 1/2 cup per week. I also made an appointment with the dealer after the original post.

Got the car back from the dealer yesterday (more than 4 week lead times for service...grrr), they confirmed it is a coolant leak. They added die to the coolant with the hope the die will ID where the leak is coming from. Next step is to return the car to the dealer after driving 300 miles. Hope I do not have to wait another 4 weeks for the fix.

Not judging your choice of dealer , but by my operservtion, from the pictures . I would put money on the coolant pump is at fault. Just my guess.
