I pulled mine to have better access to the dip stick. You can buy a kit on line or just the plugs at a hardware store. The plug on the firewall is a little hard to get to. To prevent dropping the plug behind the engine, just put a piece of tape about a foot long on the plug and tape the other end to the firewall. Once the plug is seated you can remove the tape. As for the sound, I really couldn’t tell any difference. No cons at all.
Same. I disconnected it from the intake thinking the sound was loud and obnoxious. I swore it was much better without but then I reconnected it thinking I missed it. Upon doing so, I discovered I can't hear a difference between the two. Your mileage may vary of course but with no difference to my ears, I'll remove it as soon as I get around to it on a non-rainy day just to get rid of the ugly obstruction.

You can buy the $10 removal cap-off kit and just disconnect the intake side a see for yourself if you like the change. You dont have to pull the tube from the firewall.

Expect 75 -100 less HP, and a similar loss of Torque. As for Gas Mileage you will see a 10 mpg increase.

Just kidding, personal preference. I like it but kindof wish it was shut off in Quiet Mode or Normal Mode. I could judge better to see if I am irritation my neighbors early morning. I've kept it on, less hassle if I sell it, the car has the illusion of being driven gently.

I put a plug in my hose to try it without the noise (without removing it). I preferred the sound without. The noise hit my ears at the wrong decibel or something that gave me a headache. I usually have the exhaust on Sport mode anyway. But there was still something there. I'll remove it to get access to the dip stick when I have a chance.

I removed mine and haven't regretted it one bit. I want to hear the Borla exhaust.

I wasn’t able to grab a video, it started to rain so I was rushing to get it done. I can tell you there is no real difference in the sound though. Whereas before the sound sounded boomy or echoey in the cabin, now it sounds like a normal car, mostly coming from the tailpipe area. It’s an improvement and doesn’t make it appreciably quieter which is good for me

What is the "carbon Filter" that the OP mentioned?
That's an extra filter in the air filter housing on the 2022's and newer. Supposedly it is to lower emissions...but it also cuts 10hp due to the added restriction (or so it's believed). Most just take it out of the airbox.

Here's a pic of it in the airbox lid:

This is the same thing as an axel back …amplifies noise with no power gains. Kept mine love it …

Greetings,

I have a 2022 Mustang GT Premium with a manual transmission. It has 1500 miles on it, and other then a FRP Track suspension upgrade, IRS wheel hop stuff, X-pipe delete, and removing the Carbon filter, my car is stock. I will not be doing any engine mods in the foreseeable future, so with that being said, what are the Pro's and Con's of removing my sound tube? I understand a lot of Mustang owners do this.

Please advise,
Thanks....................
you've done the x-pipe so any sound coming from the tube is going to be drowned out anyway. And if you have active exhaust even better.
